Friends

Earlier this evening I went to a party at one of my "friends'" houses. People were drinking, laughing, having a good time. My ex-girlfriend and I met up, well she's not really an ex. We dated for 13months, and then I put us on a break. I simply wanted respite from it. During the break, one of my closer friends attempted to ask her out. She rejected him, and that sort of set up for a fallout between me and my friends. So as we were at this party, people asked us to come down from the balcony. I told them to hold on as my gf was getting quite emotional. She went to go to the bathroom, and they would not let her back up to talk to me. No big deal, i brought her outside and calmed her down, she came back in calm apologized to the host, and sat down. Then i found out that no one wanted me to be there anymore. So i left, and all of a sudden, my friends from this group just seem to simply dislike me. These people mean a lot to me and I just want to understand why they are acting like this and what to do. I am a senior this year, only a semester left and Im off to college never to see these guys again. They are more nerdy than the other group of friends I have. I may never see any of them more than twice a year in about 8 months. However I dont want to just **** them and move on, I really want to solve things because when everyone is not bein ***** ass *****es we all have a really good time, and we have had some really awesome memories. I have tried to talk to them, but everyone just seems clammed up.

What shall I do?

apperantly they weren't really your friends. But his could work to your advantage, since you will lose them anyway for college, It is now easier to say good riddance to them.

Perhaps not. I really thought they were, but now apparently not. I really didnt want this answer, but perhaps it is the right one. As they say, the truth hurts. Anyone else?

no **** man. the feeling sucks. maybe u can ask them for a night out and find out wad exactly is wrong. if they refuse to tell or act like nothing is wrong, then the problem lies with them this time

Talking with my real friends i figured some things out - mainly those guys are jealous and insecure. Its a blessing i'm rid of negative people anyways!

sounds like one of them wants to put the moves on her and wants you out of the picture completely to me, but who knows?

what you think are friends , will come in between a relationship and break it up over drama. its best you realise this now.

I've heard this philosophy in other places as well - most recently in browsing the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and Joost Elffers. I dont think I quite understand this philosophy. How do I "keep my enemies closer?" Anyone want to elaborate?

keep close, like make sure u know what they gettin up to an make sure they aint schemin behind ure back to do somethin!
if ther nerdy, challenge them to a fight or somethin infront of everyone, go psycho on them, so theyll either be scared of u an wont f*k wit u, or say its ther loss
