just wondering, not that i plan on this happening.

but i've been friends with this girl for like six years over the internet. we have spoke on the phone several times. we never ended up meeting but in a couple weeks i am moving to another state and it just so happens so is she. to the same one as me.. in jan 2009. she won't know anyone over there and i think it looks as if we would end up meeting sometime in the future.

has anyone been in this situation where you meet someone you've known online for years? what happens in person? is it possible that seeing me in the flesh would spark an attraction? cause it is very different from online. am i seriously stuck in the friends book or would meeting in real life save me from that since we've never met before?

p.s.: yes we've seen each others pictures and webcam, etc.

i have many friends ive met over the internet (computers are my hobby). i have met many of them for the "first time" at computer conventions, etc. generally, people that you get to know over the internet really talk and act like they normally do in person. i think you will have a good first meeting with this girl. good luck man.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

It wouldn't change a thing. If fact, she will probably be friendly and optimistic about the interaction. (If not, I can't say I would bother anyway. :D ).

Enjoy it! :D

EDIT: didn't read the part about the attraction thing. Keep in mind: If you don't expect nothing, you can't be dissapointed!

So don't expect NOTHING and go in for the FUN. You'll see if you two get along and THEN, MAYBE you can have these thoughts. You're already loosing points with that mindset, and you didn't even talk to her yet! :D

Wow. The definition of friend has really diluted.

A friend is: a person you know well and regard with affection and trust.
An aquaintance is: personal knowledge or information about someone

Yes I got these definitions from Google.

You seem to really care what some random person on the internet thinks about you. You're already thinking about a potential attraction, love at first sight, and yadda yadda.

Dude. wtf.

1. You don't know this chick.
2. All you know of this chick, is filtered information she gave you.

No one can tell you what this interaction is going to be like. Things happen randomly, and every experience is different. But we can take a guess.

Here's mine: You will go AFC on her. You already have.

She will be even hotter in person, you two will hit it off like nobodies business, she will enhance your life to extremes never envisioned by you. She also is great in bed, The two of you will get married in 2011, have 3 kids and she will keep her figure, you both will die 5 months apart in your 70's, you of course will pass first due to heart problems.

Btw dont buy that waterfront property, it will be useless down the track due to erosion caused by loamy sand soil.

You need to stop using msn as a crutch to meeting people. You need to get off your ass and meet people in person. It's been 6 years, don't you think you would've met by now if you REALLY wanted to?
