I was at the Renaissance Fair, which is kind of like a medival times themed amusement park with a lot of activities, games, shows, etc. based on medival times.
Anyways, this was the first chance I got to use DeAngelo's material, namley "hey, you got e-mail?.... good, write it down for me" and "you got a cell phone? here, give me your number" and it worked both times and this wasn't just other visitors, this was from girls who worked there! (which I imagine they got hit on a million times a day).
With the cell phone what I did was basically called her right there (she claimed her cell was elsewhere since she cant have it at work) to make sure the number was real and it was, got her voicemail, which was funny because she was looking at me like right there as I gave her a suspicious look as I dialed the number right in front of her.
Then I pretended like someone picked up I said
"hello? ... whose this, I thought this was supposed to be someone elses phone,.. *pause as I pretend someone else is talking", no, the person i got this number from is right here...*pause again* yea.." and she had the most FREAKED OUT look on her face as if someone stole her cell or something and picked it up! It was too priceless! I even fooled the couple of guys I was with.
Then I told her I was just kidding and hung up. Everyone was convinced, one of my friends was even like "oh man I thought you were actually on the phone with someone!"
I mostly acted ****y & funny, took it easy, just basically do the things DeAngelo said, made a few sarcastic remarks and just overall had a good time. I didn't care what happened since this was in Wisconsin and I live in Illinois anyway.
Another funny thing was when someone walked by and she yelled out "Wanna shoot some darts sir?" with her fake accent (she was behind the counter of the dart throwing activity so it was kind of her job) and the guy goes "no thanks" and I say really loud "I think he likes you" and the guy actually turned around and started laughing (as well as she was laughing her ass off).
So yeah all in all good fun, got a # though I probably won't use it since she lives in wisconsin.
I was really tempted to try the Kissing Bandit that DeAngelo briefly referred to in his video but I was afraid I'd get kicked out or something if someone got too freaked out. (The kissing bandit for those who haven't seen DeAngelo's Double Your Dating video is where you stand in a place and as women walk by yell out "I am the kissing bandit, you must kiss me before you can pass!")
So yeah, this stuff works. I talked to several people mostly all in good fun no biggie. I was only there for about 3 hours so I think I did okay since I wasn't really there to do this it just sort of happened when the opportunities came up.
I am not much of a guy for sarging as many of you have read before, but it was kind of fun.
Renaisannce Fair is an interesting place. I recommend everyone visit it if they have one nearby, its a fun different thing to go to.
