I generally fight like a white boy (e.g. using my bare fists).

I generally aim for the guy's nose, b/c it is the softest and most vulnerable spot on the face, plus if you get hit hard in the nose, it fvckin hurts like hell. I generally stay away from the forehead, b/c that's mostly hard bone and it absorbs impacts better than soft cartileges. I also use the forehead to my advantage: I try to deflect incoming shots that i cannot possibly dodge off of my forehead because it is much stronger than the rest of your face, or so I heard from a book on fighting.

If the guy is taller than me, I generally try to get a good punch in to the solar plexus to help bring him down to size. (Hitting the solar plexus too hard can be lethal, so be careful-- you just want to whoop the guy's ass, not kill him.)

I also use a full nelson if I can manage lock it in. That hold will take a lot out of you in a hurry. Trust me, i've been on the receiving end in the past, and b/c it makes it hard to breathe, not being able to get enough oxygen takes all the strength out of you until the hold is released.

A good way to take a punch is to either dodge it entirely or if that cannot be done for whatever reason, it's easier to step into it, rather than have it hit you as you back away. This is b/c if you're backing away, the shot can do some real damage b/c of the extra momentum you give it if you're moving backwards.

There are several punches:

a. straight punch: This is your average, no-frills punch. You generally strike out at someone in front of you, and you mostly aim for the head. A good way to take this punch is to step into it and deflect ift off your forehead, or avoid it entirely.

2. Roundhouse punch: this punch is a wide semi-circular strike targeting the side of your head. Dodge this punch, b/c the bone on the side of oyur head isn't as strong as it is on your forehead. Be sure to follow up with a straight punch or roundhouse of your own.

3. uppercut. : this nasty little punch can be lethal if it hits you wrong (like under the jaw) DO NOT STEP INTO THIS PUNCH. Get the hell away from it by dodging. I generally prefer to return the favour by giving the other guy a roundhouse to the head ON THE OPPOSITE side of where he did his uppercut. (b/c the arm you uppercut with is positioned in a way as to make you vulnerable and wide open on your other side)

Hope this helps anyone win a fist-fight.

knuckle push-ups do wonders to harden your knuckles

I dont' get why no one attacks the balls on the street. I'm a kickboxer and known as a tough guy but still, the balls would be the first thing I go for (mainly because people on the street are often too stupid to protect them).

Ya, there are retards that will say attacking the balls is unmanly, but screw them. To follow this 'rule' is to open yourself up to a weakness by bounding yourself to a set of rules in an environment where there are no rules.

If you're getting mugged, you gotta go for the balls. And when he's down, you mug your mugger. Good times.

Don't punch your bag as hard as you can when you first start. You could easily **** your wrists up. Buy some tape to wrap around your hands and get some good boxing gloves.

You won't hurt yourself if you're not a dumbass. You don't need tape or gloves just like you don't need a belt or straps for lifting. Using gear only makes you weaker.

I'm not saying you HAVE to have it but I'm saying that its not a bad way to start. Conditioning should be done gradually, based on the research I've done looking on the web.

There have been many stories of Muay Thai guys who get a wooden roller and continuously roll it against their shins. They did this for like 6 months and were conditioned well in a short time but later on in life their bones started getting stuffed up and many ended up with bone cancer and sorts.

But yeah woteva...to each and his own. That was just my opinion. I'm not necessarily correct.

hey, you asked for advice and i'm telling you to use gloves or hand wraps when punching the bag, specially if you are punching a hard bag or if you are going to be punching for a long time. it's not good to go straight into punching the bag bare knuckled at least not when you first start.
