Alright, I waited a little longer to post so I can start doing it day by day rather than the weird half-day thing I was doing so far . .

Night before yesterday I had some vegetable meatball soup after work, and some pepperoni. For dinner I had a chicken salad with Ranch dressing, and a bunch of chicken with melted cheese on top. I ran on the treadmill for 25 minutes, than walked fast for 15.

Wednesday, 10/29:

Breakfast - Eggs w/ Salsa and Spicy Sausage
Lunch - A chicken salad w/ Ranch dressing and Beef Barley soup
After Work - Two hotdogs, some pepperoni, and a few pickles
Dinner - A big chef Salad w/ Ranch dressing and two turkey burgers with cheese on top.

Exercise - 25 minute jog on the treadmill and 20 minutes walking.

As for drinking, if you REALLY want to make a commitment to losing weight, you'll cut it out. It is worthless, most cheat meals will have some nutritional value (i.e. you go and have a burger and fries, you'll get some good meat with that, veggies most likely, the carbs from the fries will help you out metabolically and refill your energy stores) but alcohol gives you absolutely nothing, and shuts off fat burning until it's out of your system. I would not recommend replacing cheat meals with alcohol. In fact I'd say I wouldn't cheat at all if I was drinking (that would count as all the cheats for the week).
Ok. Tomorrow is really hard to avoid having at least a few drinks. Its a big Halloween party me and some friends have been planning . . I guess I could drink water and diet coke all night but honestly, it'll be hard. Either way, after tomorrow I'm gonna stop the drinking and focus on getting into shape. It'll be worth it, I'm sure of that. And maybe it'll force me to learn to get social and have fun without it.

Oh, almost forgot. Weight has dropped a few pounds.

Looks great.

As for it being hard to cut out drinking - if it was easy everyone would be fit and lean. There are longterm benefits to minimising it anyway, not just for weight loss

Congrats on the weight loss, but don't weigh yourself for a few weeks. Right now your drinking is helping screw up your water levels (water retention) so just give it a few weeks without the alcohol to really measure success.

Thursday 10/30 -

Breakfast - Eggs w/salsa and cheese, 2 spicy sausages
Lunch - Chef Salad w/ Ranch dressing and more eggs with 1 spicy sausage
After Work - 2 Hotdogs, some pepperoni, and 2 pickles
Dinner - 2 steaks, broccoli, sugar-free Jello

I felt dizzy at one point in the night when I get up. It happens when I get up too fast sometimes, but this one was kind of intense . . I panicked and had a little gummy candy thing .. haha, don't know why that would help. Later in the night I had some peanut butter with an apple as well, and the insides of a small turkey grinder.

Excercise - 20 minutes running on treadmill, 10 minutes walking fast.

Now today is the hard day . . Halloween! Avoiding candy and alcohol . . damn . . Doesn't help with everyone around you constantly pushing the stuff on you. Even last night, a normal weekday night before this party, I'm offered booze twice, and get the 20 questions when I turn it down.

Alright, well its Monday, I'm off drinking in favor of losing more weight faster, but I twisted my ankle late Friday night! Its getting better faster than I thought it would though, so I'd say another week and I can be on the treadmill again.

For now I'm thinking floor exercises and getting into the gym to start weight training, but if anyone has ideas for cardio with a bum foot, advice would be appreciated.

Friday 10/31 -

Breakfast - Eggs w/ Salsa and cheese (no meat left)
Lunch - A big Chef Salad and a Slim Jim
Dinner - Meatballs and Sausages, but I confess to them being covered in red sauce that I think had sugar. I also confess to a few pieces of candy (Halloween) and the drinking at the party all night. I took it as kind of a cheat night I guess . .

Saturday 11/1 -

Breakfast - Missed it. I was pretty much bed ridden anyway with the sprained ankle
Lunch - Salad with Ranch Dressing / Scallops / Steak
Dinner - Meatballs and Sausages, red sauce mostly removed / Two double-cheeseburgers w/out bread

Sunday 11/2 -

Breakfast - Missed again. Another bad move. I need to work on it on the weekends.
Lunch - Meatballs and Sausages / Salad w/ Ranch dressing / Small piece of steak w/ an Egg
Second Meal - 1 1/2 Hotdogs w/ mustard, peanuts, cashews and almonds from a Trailmix bag.
Dinner - 7 piece Buffalo Wing

A bit of a rough weekend. Without the drinking I know it will be a lot easier to stay on track during the weekends.

you know you're sabotaging yourself with all the late night drinking and missing breakfast, right? the diet looks good but you can take an overweight person who doesn't eat breakfast, have them eat breakfast and not change ANYTHING about the rest of their diet and they will lose weight - even though they're eating more - that's the importance of eating breakfast for fat loss.

okay, Halloween is over. no more drinks for you until Xmas and New Year's. time to get serious.

sucks about the ankle but it'll heal fast - you can do the stationary bike or the rowing machine for cardio if you can't walk very well. I wouldn't try to weight train with it.

I hear you WBA . . The drinking is finished. I am committed. I would have cut it sooner but this was a party I was throwing that had been planned for a while.

Trust me the cheat meal I'll be able to have looks a lot better right now that the drinking.

I guess I'll hit the stationary bike this week. Its better than nothing.

Monday, 11/3

Breakfast - Eggs with salsa and cheese, 2 spicy sausages

Lunch - Chef Salad with Steak in it, an apple, and a bowl of sugar-free Jello with sugar-free whipped cream

After Work - Two Mcdonald's double-cheeseburgers without bread, and some nuts, with a single buffalo wing leftover from the previous night

Dinner - Meatballs and Sausages, with a plate of broccoli and cheese

Had some sugar-free Hot Chocolate later in the night that I'm kind of skeptical about. I'm gonna check out the label tonight. I didn't get any exercise in yesterday . . to be honest my foot is still kind of sore. But I'm gonna try some floor stuff and the bike tonight.

Raisins are high GI and high sugar - they're very healthy but I'd minimise them for now. As you drop weight you can add stuff like this back in but it pays to be strict at first. Think of it as an investment - the stricter you are initially, the better returns you'll get in the long run.

Otherwise it looks great, keep it up. How's the ankle?

The ankle was healing Wolverine style but now has been just aching today and yesterday . . I've been doing light exercises, and honestly kind of putting off the cardio, maybe even using the ankle as an excuse. Today, for sure, 20 minutes at least on the bike, even if its lightly.

good effort...

i think a cup of egg whites 10 min before you eat each meal could help curb your appetite and drastically increase your protien intake

Wendesday 11/5

Breakfast - Eggs/salsa/cheese and 2 hot sausages
Lunch - Chicken-Wings, Ham, grapes, nuts, and a slim-jim
After Work - A small bowl of Meatballs and sliced sausage in red sauce/Nuts
Dinner - A big steak salad with Ranch Dressing, and 2 hot dogs
Before bed - Bowl of Sugar free Jello with sugar-free cool whip

Excercise - 30 minutes on the stationary bike. This was surprisingly good on my ankle, so it looks like I'm back on track. The seat is a fvcking killer though. Thats easily the hardest part.

So, the good looks good? I'm still a little foggy on what is too much or too little.

don't concern yourself with amounts or calories right now. just stick to the prescribed (low carb) foods and eat according to your hunger.

calorie counting is a reason why MANY dieters fail and should be reserved only for people trying to get into bbing-contest show ready. or if you're a 150lbs skinny guy who wants to gain weight and thinks he's eating a lot of food - when in reality if he did count he'd see it was 2500 calories lol

for the moment, the food looks great. we'll make some dietary changes as time goes on but right now you're doing good, stick with it. :)

btw you haven't mentioned your fluid intake. how much are you drinking and what are you drinking?

I am trying to hit a gallon of water a day, but honestly I don't know if I am. Its hard to measure. This includes flavored seltzer water I drink. Other than that I drink the occasion Powerade Zero (no calories, sugar, or carbs) and Diet Soda. Nothing with calories.

I try to get up 15 fish oil pills a day but only end up getting 12 sometimes. Does it matter how many I take at a time?

well ideally you'd divide your fish oil dose over your meals but if you forget to do this it's fine to take them all at once.

measuring water: fill a gallon jug of water in the morning, drink a good amount of it in the morning to hydrate yourself, make sure it's all gone by night time. easy enough. don't count the seltzer water or diet sodas, they're extras. or mix some seltzer water into your regular water - but get your gallon in

you not drinking any green/white tea then? they make a difference so if you can add them in do so
