true, I have a girlfriend right now and after I got her number I called her the next day. I'm still with her. It is for the clingy guys to keep themselves away from getting clingy.

If your confident and have lots of hobbies or things to do then you can get away with it.

If a girl is interested she'll STILL be interested after 4/5 days, infact her IL and anticipation of whether you will call or not will be even higher.

However if you call the next day you've a chance to appear desperate and actually lower her IL.

It boils down to slowing everything down, taking your time and not appearing so needy, and most importantly setting the tone for any possible relationship with her. Whats the rush?

Which is why you string it out a little to get her hopes up even more.

Actions speak volumes and the action of not calling her as soon as possible, like 99% of other needy guys, demonstrates you are relaxed and cool and increases your value in her eyes. Words can only go so far.

Again it sets the tone for a possible relationship, the tone that you won't be trying to see her five times a week and calling her every ten minutes. Womens biggest complaint about dating is that guys are too needy and too pressuring - something to think about...

Gotta agree with the initial poster. If a girl is really into you it won't matter what you do. In fact the 3 day rule is now so played out that girls expect it and are surprised when you do call fairly soon.
