I'm an amateur hip hop artist.

If you're interested in hearing my music, go here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=49835

Click on "hi-fi" next to any of the songs to hear that particular song. If you have slower internet... (like 56k), then you'll probably want to listen to the "lo-fi" versions.

Anyways. I plan on making it somewhere in the music industry sometime soon. I'm not into any of the gangster and guns talk, so you won't hear any of that from me. What I'm attempting is a long shot but I'm pretty positive it will work if I stick to it.

I used to be a battle rapper, so thats really how I was able to form my own way of writing. Anywho, I'm going to try to stay away from any rap cliches as of now. My ultimate idea is to become one of the first successful commercial rappers that is actually uplifting and skillful at the same time. Right now, my writing is one of my top priorities, side by side with my college and finding a job  .

So wish me luck and if I'm lucky enough, I'll remember you if I become a big hit. :p

And BTW...my favorite songs that I recommend you listen to first are:

Don't Wanna Be Lonely
Hard To Say
Tribute
Perfection

I put all of the older songs on the bottom of the list on my soundclick page except for Don't Wanna Be Lonely.

[edit] I realized that soundclick has a problem with bit rate and encoding so the songs "Tribute" and "Perfection" played at hi-fi were played slower than usual. I just re-encoded the songs now so that they may play at their regular speed at hi-fi.

I hope someone here finds my stuff atleast remotely enjoyable :D

Thanks.

well heres some feedback ;

first of all i think you got a decent voice , maby need a little better pronounciation... and a better mic for the perfection song =P

Song :perfection :
lose the many "yeah" "ah2 & "uh" in the beginning of the song , maby make up some betetr and faster rhimes , cuz it doesnt flow right , and you defenatly need more than one verce....

Dont wanna be lonely :
this one is very tight , i really liked the beat and the singer , but you might want to loose the "unh"`s and "ah" s in this song aswell , i find that it just ruins the song... and ofcourse loose the last bit where you do the duet thing , wich i suspect is just for fun...
and you kinda gotta tell a little story with your rap , cnat just go like i want to be with you and your so fine , the song is about being lonely so talk about a girl trying to leave you or sutmhing...

hard to say :
defenately lose the fast voice in the beginning, the rest of the song is tight , the rhymes flow nice , but ofcourse needs to be alittle longer...

Tribute :
was also nice ,liked the flow need some background singers in the middle or sumthing and ofcourse to be longer ....

all in all i think your very good , u got talent u got a good sense about what works , but you need to work harder with your **** .
i think you can make it big time if u work harder on your rythm and rhymes , use your head.
And when7if u make it big i got one request , dont go start wearing stupid grills in your moth , or making songs wich basicly say "unh" over 50 times , or having lil john go "skit skit skit " in the background and il be happy =P

Wow

When I was hearing this song I was thinking, is this song his? Or did he just rapped his way into it (edited it with your voice)... Definitively, awesome song. Wow. That song itself will make you a one hit wonder at least.

Then I was like.. hmm.. nothing stand outish, finding lots of things Id change. BOKZ got my attention. And then... Outta Bonds. God damn, I was jammin to that! Taking operation freedom, all the way down was good.

Now, how did you make this? What program(s) did you use? Thanks!

Guys, listen to the 1st one...wow.

Edit- The only one I didnt like was jawbreaker. And between that one and Outta Bonds, I made it look as if I didnt like them... I did.

Heh. Everything you said has been taken into consideration. I was just doing lots of the "uhs" and "uh huh uh huhs" because a lot of the so-called "gangsters" in my highschool thought it was cool. But of course, since I'm aiming at creating a more poetic, worldly type of music, I'll probably eliminate all of those. And don't worry about the stupid grills or any of that other stuff...I hate those things just as much as most of us do

And also, the thing you said about "Perfection" and "Tribute," they weren't even being played at their normal speed at hi-fi...so thats probably why they may have sounded weird and too slow and choppy. But I re-coded the mp3s and fixed the problem just now.

[edit] and also remember that I didn't put my all in most of these songs here...maybe just the more developed ones like Don't Wanna Be Lonely, or From Dot Till Don. They were all really things thought of on the spot and so was the production. I'm definitely going to make sure everything is perfect on each track for my future songs though.

Well all of the beats I used are from amateur beat producers. I'm not going to be using any of the songs you heard on that page as a part of my sample album to distribute to labels since I have a totally different aim as to what I'm trying to accomplish. But as for the vocals, yes that's me and yes I wrote these lyrics myself (the core of everything). I currently use Adobe Audition and an "okay" microphone for my amateur productions, but for sure will be using more professional equipment...or rather have people who are more experienced with that kind of stuff do all of the voice editing and adlibbing and whatnot to all my songs. Yes, the quality isn't that great but that's because I didn't pay a huge amount for studio time...but my goal was to just let people see what they should expect from me.

So yes. I'm very very flattered that you guys found my hard work somewhat entertaining. Thanks for the support.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Oh yes. I definitely know about Lupe Fiasco. But I still believe I have very much to offer to listeners so I'm going to dive into this head first regardless.

The sample on my first track btw was from a song called "Don't Wanna Be Lonely" by the Chi Lites I believe. :D

Definitely keep working at it...

Swagger kinda like Fabolous's, without the repetitive syllable rhyme scheme, which IMO is refreshing. Voice is cool... I would see you really appealing to the high school market. Got a Jin type voice without the aggression, smooth confidence type.

All in all, the style is cool... get better production and try to find your own UNIQUE style that sets you apart indefinitely to other talents out there.

Right now the market needs a conscious voice that actually speaks about a movement.

p.s. That "Don't Wanna Be Lonely" sample is classic fam. Loving that jawn.

Keep at it man.

Peace.

Glad to see someone here who understands a little more about rhyme schemes and such. I actually started liking fabolous a lot more when I realized that I actually sounded like him (pretty much the time after I recorded Kama Sutra). But I realized that I sounded too much like him, and so that's why I've decided to constantly switch up my line patterns for every bar and find different ways to harmonize different line schemes with one another so that I can stay away as much as possible from anything repetitive like you said. And about the production quality...heh, everything I've created was from low quality equipment, such as a normal 10$ mic and adobe audition. For this current project I'm working on though, I very much do intend to find better resources for more commercial sounding quality.

But definitely, thank you for the props. I'm certainly going to try my best to mold myself into that conscious voice you're talking about so that I can perhaps incite somewhat of an evolution...or revolution towards "rap," which I hope in turn will be able to spark more worldly interests in us people as a whole.

I'm lovin it man. Kind of got a soulful feel to it. Totally different from that stuff playin' on the radio most times. R&B ish. I'm lovin' it.

Did you change the first song?

I sense that the hook, the sample, is played faster.

Bump, by the way.
