I once had a pet lamb.

My friends have also had pet rabbits, piglets, even cows.

could these animals sleep in your bed or show love and affection?

could you play games with them?

hell do you even keep these animals in your house?

No so shut the **** up:box:

And for the rest of you PRO-DOG people, stop being Euro-centric/Ethnocentric (if you're in USA) , respect how other people do things in other countries. 50% of Americans live near poverty, are you going to do anything about that? Public Education is underfunded in poor minority neighborhoods which is the result of racism and classism. But keep arguing about an animal being beaten to death while millions of animals in the USA go through the same but quicker process for consumption.
were you the same guy that basically said you hate mexicans?

How? Everyone has a different set of moral values. Didn't Europe kill thousands of cows (without their farmers' permission)? Doesn't the US kill millions of bees, bats, ants, and spiders every year? Oh that's right, they're not as cute as dogs & cats, so nobody makes a fuss.
you couldn't possibly be this dumb can you?

bees, ants, and spiders:rolleyes:

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

So culling a few dogs is now a holocauste? Wow, that's the 2nd dumb comment I've heard today.
If you twist my words around, sure that's what I said. My point was that you don't have to live in a region, whether it is Nazi Germany or modern day China, to identify its people's actions as morally wrong, which you were implying.

Buying an insect spray to kill spiders in my own house is hardly the same as seizing my neighbor's property, a dog, and killing it.

Poor people can't afford human rights. They're more concerned about things like...well, not starving. Name ONE poor country that has plenty of human rights.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

The above comments (except for Silverback, who's just a troll) simply show how people can't percieve a world outside their comfortable, tree-lined middle class neighbourhoods.

So tell me this: What is so special about dogs? What's the difference between eating a dog, and eating a cow? So far, the only argument I've seen is "Because it just is!".

1) Many people go to bed with their dog. (Man's best friend)

2)I don't know anyone who goes to bed with a cow. Nor do I know anybody who's cow lays next to them while they watch TV.

3) We don't break into people's homes and club their pet cow or dog to death. This is cruel and inhumane for the pet and the owner.

4) If you want to argue the cow/dog thing you might as well include humans since were also animals. We're just higher up in the food chain.

5) Shouldn't it be okay to kill humans? Since dogs are no better than cows you might as well throw us in there too.

1) Just as many eat dogs daily

2) Maybe if they had mini cows they would/could do such in some parts of india. I got stuck in traffic on tour there because no body wanted to "disturb" on in the middle of the road.

3) If it was found that lots of animlas had disease and property owner's pets were determined to be the source i can say with 100% accuracy they would be quarentiended and destroied

4) Humans have been quarientied and destroied or left to die not too long in the past

5) I think I addressed this one in in the last line. Also think about how "bad" people are put in to large cages called jail cells daily

The issue for me is not that they're being killed (which is ****ty), but the way they're being killed. Seizing people's dogs on the street and clubbing them to death, and making noise to draw them out to beat them to death is bad. Nobody kills cows that way, so the analogy to cows is false.

Some people on this forum are advocating moral equivalence, which isn't cool. I don't necessarily believe in the universality of right and wrong, but I certainly don't believe that anything people want to do is okay just because that's their "culture," and I'm not being ethnocentric in saying so.

Ethically, humans have a responsibility to animals to minimize their pain, even if we put them to death. Putting a bolt through the brain of a cow - killing it instantly - is certainly different than a long, drawn-out beatdown on a dog. Pain is not minimized, even if the ends were necessary. Thus, it is unethical. I'm a relativist too, and I can recognize this.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

haha i'm a troll says the guy comparing dogs to ants and bees:rolleyes:

maybe if i post 4000 times and stay here for 4 years (I would hope you are an expert with women by now) I will be a respected member right?

have you ever even had a dog?

I already gave the differences

the fact that you have to ask at all shows how intelligent you are, and the beastiality comment was so witty:rolleyes:

they say not feeling any compassion at all for domesticated animals is a sign of mental issues. Serial killers often tortured dogs and cats before they moved on to people

Many people go to bed with their rabbits. But we still eat rabbit.

How about rabbits, chickens, or pet lambs?

3) We don't break into people's homes and club their pet cow or dog to death. This is cruel and inhumane for the pet and the owner.
No, but we do send police troopers to peoples doors and demand they hand over their cows to be slaughtered because a few cows are diseased.

4) If you want to argue the cow/dog thing you might as well include humans since were also animals. We're just higher up in the food chain.
That's right, we are. In primitive times, humans weren't even that high up on the food chain.

5) Shouldn't it be okay to kill humans? Since dogs are no better than cows you might as well throw us in there too.
Actually, in the United States it is ok to kill humans. The US is one of the few 1st world countries with the death penalty.

Yes, I am. Why are dogs superior to ants and bees? Is it because they're cuter? In that case, maybe we should start executing ugly people.
