My GCE's are up in less than 2 weeks and (hopefully) I'll be out of HS after that so I thought I'd write up on a few observations I've made.
Physical strenght
=============
No matter what people say this matters. Regardles of your current height and/or body compopsition and general size you need to be tough enough to take on two average guys and make THEM not want to pick on you. Other than the obvious not getting picked on side people will almost invariably treat you better. Even if you talk your gifted with the abiltity to talk out of everything sooner or later push will come to shive and youll be hapy you spent a few hours a week at a gym and or dojo.
Being "nice"
========
This is in the bible and almost every thread and for a reason: it's extremly important to strike the sweet spot between nice guy and *******. Just try to be polite and dont take **** from anyone. Try to look at people when your talking but dont stare, etc.
Hesitating
========
IMHo this is the real education you get from HS or should get anyway. Like Alexandre's mother said to him about grabing the snake "Hesitate and she will kill you". This is true for many things, either you do it or yuo dont. If you hesitate you will loose time either way and probably just go over things and that serve only to make you feel bad.
Social skills
========
This is another important thing HS teachers you. There's not much to say as the whole board covers it several times. Again just try to be poliet and go wing it. Practise conversation and dont take things too seriosly.
Pace yourself
==========
Dont ever let things get to you. Easier said than done but it's a worthy goal. That doesnt mean being irresponsible and flaky but keeping calm and collected. If something bothers you try to solve it out first ,getting mad and pissed of doesnt help, again easier said than done and not 100% possible technically. Look up basic NLP this can help you tremendously. If you have a pile of homework, relax and go through it like light reading, you'd be surprised how fast you can finish 6 exam papers if your not burning up.
I hope this has been helpfull. Please feel free to comment.
