Everyday you get up early in the morning, hop in the shower, eat breakfast, get to school, get ready for class, go to block one, block two, block three... and so on...

Its the same mundane routine each day... And each day people follow it, though not really sure of their goals. Think about getting up early.. how horrible it can be... How each day you have to deal with the stressors of highschool. Take a few long, deep thoughts and ask yourself this question:

Why?

What drives you to do this every morning?

Many people cant answer this. They look at their lives like it is a video tape being played over and over again. Highschool can become so dreadful, that people lose touch with themselves.

And when this happens, people become zombies. Zombies stuck in the clutch of some stupid social agenda. Right when school starts, most kids are unique... different... themselves. Soon enough though, each unique kid starts to follow the trends, getting their very personallity sucked away by the social scene.

Forget about popularity

I had a revelation the other day. At the begining of this year, i looked at my brother, whos now a senior. He wasnt a popular kid, he played football, but he was geeky in many ways. I didnt like it. It ruined my whole perception of what i thought he was, the great, powerful brother that i looked up to. As a result i started to look down on him. Months passed and he started taking all his classes at a local college. I see him now working his ass off every day. He goes out any chance he has free time to work for his internship. Its amazing sometimes what this kid can do. Thing is...

None of highschool matters anymore...

My brother now, being outside of this highschool social agenda, never ceases to amaze me.

Kids need to realize that highschool is about learning... its not about becoming "popular" and being friends with everyone who crosses your path, because none of that will matter when it comes down to it. Sure... have some fun along the way, but its not about being cool...

So relax, be yourself, and enjoy highschool. Dont worry about what other kids think.

there are definitely a lot of scial skills built up in highschool and it ends up being a testing ground for many social things. the i dont give a fvck attitude does work, but it should be used to get as many friends as possible because even though popularity doesnt mean a damn thing, having people skills and knowing how to get them to do what you want is one of the most important things you can learn in highschool, but you dont learn it in the classrooms.
