Recently I have been interested in taking Flax seed oil for bodybuilding. I have researched it online, and found that it has numberous beneficial effects on muscle growth, repair, and increased energy. It is also healthy because it contains good fats, OMEGA 3, OMEGA 6, etc.
But, is all of this talk, just that talk. Is it really beneficial to take flax seed oil? They also said that Ginco Beloba, and St. John's wart helped with memory, but new research says that it can accually be dangerous to take these herbs. I looked up the side effects of Flax seed oil. They told of increased estrogen and anti - estrogen levels, but this side effect has not been well proven. That was the one of the only (weak, not even proven) side effects that I could find. What have your experiences with flax seed oil produced? Is it really beneficial to take them? Or am I just wasting my money on buying supplements?

I have a bottle at home. I bought it during the summer and tried it a couple times but I really couldnt tell the difference. The guy at GNC said I should eat a megamen tablet with the flax seed oil everyday but i get lazy. From wat i heard, the flax seed oil is a certain type of fatty oil that can be turned into muscle alot quicker than most fats. I should try it for 2 weeks and see what happens.

I take flax-seed oil daily, not the capslues, but the actual oil, and it works wonders, flaxseed oil is consided an EFA, essential fatty acid, which our bodies can't produce on its own, and most people don't get enough of it in their diets, canola oil is a good source of EFAs, as well as natural penut butter, but flaxseed oil tastes a bit buttery and as soon as you take it the taste kinda disapears...the benefits far outweigh the negatives, some are it helps break down bad fats, good for the heart, etc...

While I haven't read any bad reports on flax seed oil, if you are concerned you can take Fish Oil for your EFA's.

Consider Cod Liver Oil, people have been taking it for years and the only reason it has really fallen out of favor with Moms is that they decided to put Vitamin D in milk and its easier to get kids to drink milk.
