Aaah my first Opening Post. So let me start with a warm up.
I’ve read the DJ Bible, and many versions of it since 1999 version to the latest KillaPeteHog version.
I’ve read the Bible from King James Version till the new “Teens” simplified version (I’m note Christian, just like to read).
The DJ Bible has the same flaws as the Bible it self.
1. Misinterpretation
2. Selective interpretation.
3. Including Misassumptions and
4. Assumptions.
Lets start off with an easy example.
C+F, the common technique published in the bible. C+F First suffers from misinterpretation. How to be ****y and how to be funny!? The DJ bible alone doesn’t give point-to-point, day-to-day situational use of the C+F so it can’t be really blamed here.
But what follows is this.
A junior DJ will attempt C+F, lets add kino and he’ll fail, he’ll come to SS and post like this:
“I slapped her back side and told her a horse joke. Man she slapped me”
Replies would end up being like:
“Your kino was wrong”
“Your ****y, was just poppy ****”
“Your not funny”
“You got slapped….sweeet! Wish someone would touch me”
Then there will be those with selective interpretation who mastered the bible speak.
“The DJ bible says, “A real man doesn’t give a ****””
“The DJ Bible doesn’t mean you do Jerk+Stupidity”
“Start spinning plates, because your too focused one girl”
“Its okay Jerks win, Nice Guys lose”
Doesn’t it sound like familiar? Like sitting in a crowd of fundamental Christian’s yet of course the subject is different.
Anyway, the OP by now would be confused, defensive and lost faith in our bible.
This is the reason why the Christian population has also decreased. People have just become frustrated. It becomes a big joke.
Too much head spinning.
So what should be done?
Here my suggestion. We should no longer call it the DJ Bible. Rather we call it that DJ Guide Books. Calling it the DJ Bible gives it too much valiance where it shouldn’t. Too much seriousness there is none.
Also we should stop being like Christian fundamentalist and be like fathers to the juniors, be more encouraging.
"go son, keep trying"
"its okay, it happened to the best of us, try again"
Aaaahhh, I’m done.
Oh!
What I do particular like about the DJ Bible, is it keeps trying to add new ideas on to old. While the bible we try to find new interpretations out of the old ideas.
