Hey all just did my first day of week one of the dj bootcamp pdf (establish eye contact and say hi to fifty strangers). Well only about 10% of the people I tried making eye contact with would actually look and most of those would look away really quick, especially the girls :-/ (why, WHYYY?) (this was at college). I think I got in two or three hellos in all today and whats weird is they were all black people (maybe blacks are more confident??? I'm a white guy btw.) So has anyone done bc and/or have any tips for me on getting people to notice you more? also how do you say hello to people in places that are more crowded without it feeling awkward??

most people will, in general, avoid contact with you if they are in every day situations. Also, saying something to someone in a random place doesn't seem natural so if they aren't making eye contact, they probably assume you are talking to someone else or are on the phone. Point is you can't take it too personally.
