Okay, this weekend I've finally got a date with the girl I've liked for a long time. She's easily an HB8 or 9 and I'm really shy around people--especially girls. How can I deal with this? And do you have any first date tips? Thanks, guys.

You need to practice, talking to strangers, holding eye contact, smiling, being friendly.
REad the stuff on this sites, but really try to get as much practice withs strangers and girls. and don't think of her as the be all end all, change your mindset, she's a girl what could potentually go out with YOU, not you with her, its you, and she could go oout with YOU. Your the guy, manly,. confident, she comes to you, you act despitre her words and decisions. Relax, deep breathes.

ANYWAYS...first dates are always fun..
you don't want to spend the whole time getting to know each other...but you do want to have a nice converstion...but honestly, dont try and structure it beforehand..Conan said on the Actor's Studio

same goes with the date...you start with one thing..and it leads to another and another...all you really need is conversational skills, kino, and a calm disposition
think about it this way...she's already said yes to hanging out with you, and if it's a date, then you've already got it done...your job is simply not to screw it up..that was from hitch

You'll be nervous and shy this weekend then. Just being blunt about it...You won't change overnight. That said, you probably won't do as badly as you imagine yourself doing. The date might start out roughly but pick up steam as you get more comfortable. Plus, you have time on you side. You'll get better.
