firm buttocks

My buttocks are small and I'd like to have a bit larger and firm back. I don't go to gym but I heard doing situps before going to bed every night will make buttocks firm.

Any suggestions?

Gluteus maximus is not working when doing sit-ups. If you do not want to go to the gym then do some squats at home but squats in gym will make them grow like crazy.

try doing them when you wake up, it will give you energy for the day and it is hard to sleep if you raise your body temp before bed.

Yeah, squats are amazing for firm thighs and buttocks. I don't squat more than 100lbs as I don't have a spotter, but even 70lbs will give you some great results.

But never do exercise before going to bed. You need to feed your muscles protein after a work out, so any kind of exercise is best done before meals.

Weighted lunges.

When doing squats, lift your big toe up. Makes the posterior chain work a lot harder. Two work-outs for the price of one.

Talking about squats reminds me of something funny that happened at the gym yesterday.

I was warming up my legs preparing for squats when 3 normal looking girls came in with a coach. One of them was hot, tight and blonde and was about the same height as me (5'6). She looked very fit but not noticeably muscly.

They took over both new squat racks right when I finished stretching so I had to use the crappy old one. I loaded up and started squatting 57.5kgs (126.5 pounds), which is my own body weight and a personal best.

I was excitedly thinking, "Yay, look at me everybody! I'm squatting my own body weight!"

But when I finished the set I looked over and the little blonde girly was squatting 100kgs (220lbs) !!!!!!!!!!!! That's like giving some fat dude a piggy back.

F*ck this is unprecedented...not half squats either. I couldn't believe my eyes. The other 2 were doing 80kgs. It was damn intimidating, women shouldn't be that strong!

The best exercise bar far is the stiff leg deadlift. But it requires some technical practice and a barbell.

Unlike squats you don't need to spot and it mainly works hams and glutes.

This i'll just do a few before bed idea. get it out of your head. Get some weights or go down the gym and give it the focus it deserves or forget it.

ummmm....i weigh 180 and i can squat 270...maybe you guys are just weak in the legs?

you may or maynot be able to squat that but I would say...90-95% cannot properly squat and do not go parallel (90*). Most people load on weights and do a little 2 inch dip and call it a squat.

Don't forget gentlemen, a woman's body strength is in her hips and legs. But we still need you men to open wide mouth jars for us because you have the upper body strength that we lack.

You can still blow her away on the butterfly and lat machines.

Squats and deadlifts work best. Especially if done using superslow technique. Running also works good.

we have a winner :) I always do these with my dumbell set I have at home, they work great.

yes, they work the hamstrings too. Squats and deadlifts are the overall best exercises for your butt muscles.
