Pook,
I've been reading "Rich Dad's Guide to Investing", so I'm well aware of what investing is and what gambling is. My concern is that even with rules in place, will there be enough knowledgeable people on the site to know the difference?
Kinda like what Kiyosaki himself says. "It's not the investment, but the investor that's risky." We could create a forum that has the most well-thought out rules and policies, but if no one on the forum knows a damn about financial literacy, like whats the difference between and asset, liability, or a security, etc... it'll be the blind leading the blind,...just like the main forum.
But the main forum is different. Yes, the blind is leading the blind, but in the main forum, that is BY DESIGN. There is some guidance provided by veteran posters and to an extent, the DJ Bible, but for the most part, newbies use the main forum to trade notes with other newbies about their real world experiences. The subject matter may sometimes seem very elementary and downright stupid, but them, it is very new and groundbreaking. The main forum may be painful to read at times, but this is actually good because it forces them to figure things out in the real world rather than use this web site as a crutch.
In contrast, I envision a financial forum that would help both beginning AND advanced investors. Remember how we had to separate the men from the boys and bring back the Mature Man forum? We don't wanna have to do the same for a financial forum. Its similar to how we don't have an advanced H&F forum, but yet the level of dialouge still remains high.
