I was on the subway platform and saw a girl with a SQL programming book in her hand. Although a computer nerd, she looked hot. I went up and this is how it progressed:

Me: Hi, How are are you?
Her: *No Answer*
Me: Am I bothering you?
Her: Yes, you are
Me: What is this world coming to? Everyone is so snotty.

Now, I know I left myself open by asking "Am I bothering you?", but I figured if she was interested anyway, she would say something other then "yes" and maybe I should have not insulted her at the end, but oh well.....I don't play by the rules.

It would have been cool with an ending about "how you saw an SQL book and wanted to make a comment (about how you had trouble learning it, how a certain programming professor gave you crap, etc), but forget it."

You did a good thing by calling her on her nastyness.

It's a little discouraging but keep going, with someone nicer.

Where do you live? It could be she thought you were an attacker or serial killer or something. No excuse for the rudeness though. People can be very rude in crowded cities and stations, bus terminals, etc.

Good luck in the future. Forget her.

To get one last rise of emotion out of this lifeless female you should have said:

"Is that an SQL Book in your pocket or are you happy to see me?"

Okay, it sounds to me like this chick had the personality of wallpaper. I am in the 3rd week of the bootcamp and approached a chick yesterday and after about 30 seconds I realize this girl has never said anything interesting in her life and make a quick exit.

Keep approaching, they are not all like that.
