So a couple of months ago I went out to a birthday party at this upscale lounge and met this great looking chic from Sweden. Very nice and fun to talk to. She moved back to the States about 5 years ago to meet her father's side of the family and live in the US while finishing grad school. During the course of the night I had another target so I really wasn't paying her that much attention.
At some point I walk into a conversation she's having with my boys where she is telling them of all the women they can meet if they come to her performance of the Vagina monologues. By this point in the night I had lost my target and had started drinking heavily, she starts telling me how I should come to her event. I say, wait, wtf is the Vagina Monologues? Women talking about their vagina's? I'm not going to that, that sounds pretty gay. What about a Penis monologue, I can get on stage and wave my package at the audience while doing funny voices. Then I proceeded to demonstrate telling a story about how Captain Richard ****ston and how he came to rule the world. Everyone laughed and she tried to change the convo by saying how serious it was and about how women are mutilated in third world hellholes. I told her she was killing my buzz and went to the bar.
A couple of weeks later she adds me on facebook. I accept her add.
A week or two later she starts leaving comments on my page. This is when I was going through a rough patch at my job. I didn't often reply until days later.
A big art show comes up and all my friends are going...I call her up and ask her to go. She says she's going with her girlfriends and she'll see me there. Honestly..I had been working 14-16 hour days that week, I was dead tired. I got home from work, took a shower and fell asleep on the sofa.
I woke up to 3 texts from here asking if I was at the party or the after party and that I stood her up. I waited until the next week and called her. She tells me she's never been stood up before. I just told her something came up and left it at that. She said she was going with friends, not a date in my mind, too bad her friends bailed on her and she wanted me as a plan B. She asked me if I was going to apologize. I said no and asked her about the event. She told me about it and I got off the phone as I had to go to my other office.
The last two weeks she's texted me three or four times asking me to come by the restaurant where she works at to eat dinner and to sit in her section. I told her I would, but I wouldn't tip her unless she was very very good. She said wow, you're mean. I'm thinking about making a surprise visit tomorrow for dinner.
I usually would have made some sort of move by now, but my life has been upside down with sickness, losing my job and trying to take my part time business to a full time. Women just haven't been a priority. It seems that the last two years have been that way. It's been all about the paper chase and trying to survive. But a friend of mine pointed out that I really need to make time to have some sort of social life. As for the feminist chic...well, that whole V Monologue thing was a redflag to me personally...but I'll see where it goes as I have nothing else going right now.
