What's going on in your life that you feel that you need to lower your standards? Are you having any sort of problem meeting women or talking to them or what?

If I were ever THAT ashamed to bring someone home, it's usually the indicator of one or two circumstances:

(1) Personal problems
(2) Alcohol-induced visual coma

Obviously, there seems to have been no alcohol involved and you were conscious of the decision you were making, so that means there is some other underlying problem that's beginning to surface in order to make you lower your standards.
