this is a nono, unless the goal is to get FAT, correct?

then how do you eat pb?? pb sandwhiches, pbj sandwiches, pb + milk + oatmeal, those are the only things i can think of. unless, pb on a banana, or pb in a pwo shake (which should contain protein and simple, high gi carbs) would be death, no?

then, WTF? eating it plain seems kinda uncomfortable, ive seen dogs with pb and its not good!

thanks

I'm eating PB plain and it's not bad at all. You'll need something to wash it down though. I just use water.

Also make sure you use Natty PB! I hear that partially hydrogenated or whatever is the worst you can get and I've seen that on a lot of PB.

so does this mean that every meal, I have to decide weather I have fats or carbs? This would mean no eggs and bacon with avocado on toast, no spaghetti. no stir-fry on rice. WTF, no roast with sweet potato!

if you're eating spaghetti, toast, white rice, and sweet potatos i wouldn't say you're all that concerned about fat gain anyway.

meat isn't fat.. it has SOME fat. but you can eat lean meats with carbs. a little fat with carbs isn't a problem (say 10-15g maybe). So eat very lean meat with carbs and eat just vegetables with fattier meat.

Wolf the point of not mixing fat and carbs i believe is because you don't want a lot of insulin going through your system right when you're eating a lot of fat. The carbs will be used as the primary fuel source of the moment and then the fat has no where to go but to be stored especially since the insulin is screaming to fat cells "store fat!"

And since insulin release is dependent on the type of carb AND the amount of carbs (glycemic index and glycemic load), it's okay to eat a little bit of carbs with fat as long as you do it in a way that's going to keep insulin fairly under control. So carbs in a pro/fat meal is okay, but don't make it a tablespoon of table sugar or a handful of Skittles.

Heh, skittles....Actually I cheat sometimes and eat some candy right after working out because I love candy and i figure it won't go to fat at this time and my damn mom keeps sending it to me for holidays despite my protests. My mommy loves me :)

Melted sweettarts sure hides the taste of CEE in a postworkout drink ;)

pretty much, yeah. basically you're giving your body two sources of fuel at once, and the body will use one for energy (preferably carbs) and store the other.

a little fat in carb meals is okay, as long as it's not consciously added (i.e. something like eggs+egg whites plus oatmeal for breakfast as opposed to having steak and rice and adding olive oil/butter/cheese as well..)

When I'm on my diet, I go high-fat, but I still eat some carbs. I still experience good gains, but I have an extremely high metabolism.

If your body metabolizes food fast, I think you can cheat on the carbs a little if you're going high-fat. I also do a lot of cardio - probably more than I should. I'm sure that helps bail me out of any unwanted results from my carb intake.

My goal is to gain weight, but I don't seem too sensitive to carbs. Every meal is fresh meat + fruits + vegetables + milk. The meat though is usually chicken breast or fish, both low on fat. I think I get most fat from milk.

I'm actually maintaining weight and losing fat. :cheer:
