america is fat. but we aren't lazy as a whole. what i have found is that, the avg person has zero idea how to eat. what I mean, look... when you are a kid, say the 5th grad.e you woke up. either your mom made you a bowl of cereal or you went to school and got one of those delicous sausage biscuts with the jellyo and the little thing of grape juice. then for lunch you had whatever the hell they ave you, usually say some salsbury stake and potatoes or wahtever and some milk. then when you got home momma cooked dinnjer and you ate dinner. if you were good you got a bowl of ice cream in there.

throw in the fact that you were a kid and went outside and did kid **** that took up calries, you were if anhything like me, in tip top shape as a child. i was 135 as a SENIOR in high school. though i played basketb all and ran sprints all the time... i did not eat like the picture of health. i ate whatever i wanted. but.. i still lived at home, i still for the m ost part, ate at teh same structure. i was in schoool i could not eat all the time. i had a car, so i go to subway instead of eat school lunch. mom woujld have dinner ready for me when i goty out of basketball practice or if we had a game we stopped at mcdonalds on the way home.

when you get out of school.. all that sturucre changes. now you have more money and less resctrions on when yoyu can eat. you wake up feel like eating you eat. it's 10am now you feel like eating you eat. it's 2pmj you feel like eating you eat.

what i am getting at...

take 20 mintues every sunday. make a chart, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snake. ;map out exactly what you are going to eat. it, doesn't even have to be reliativly healthy liike, losing weight food. just kep it reaonsable and home cooks. instead of wendeys for dinner buy some butterly stake and a potato cook dinner. eat some shurbet or yogurt for dessert or a 100 cal bag of popcoprn. eat a bowl of honey bunches of oats for breakfast. if you want to eat out a time or 2 a week throw it in there.

what is killing you is not mcdonalds per say. what kills you is the mcdonalds you get on the way home on a friday night before you go out to eat with the boys and drink.

i guarantee you that the weight will sheed faster than you think if you stick to it. i do this, well beucase i am on a strict cakl diet and have been for years. ;but i have found, that, itg wasn't' so mjuch waht i was eating..; i ate like complete **** in high school and could not put oin weight. but it was how mkuch i was eating. now, i even givef myself more leeway with my food. i cheat more often than i used to because it wasn't the food that was getting me in trouble and i still have a 6 pack.

I'm amazed how many people STILL trust the ingredients list on food packaging. These same food companies who claim that a box of cereal features 8 servings, when in reality most people will consume the whole box of cereal in 3 servings at the most! LOL. These companies are liars, but people still trust them! Most shoppers feel less guilty about buying a box of cookies that claims REDDUCED CALORIES on the label. That way they can just blame their being fat on genetics.
Companies create new reduced calories/fat products to attract those who want to feel less guilty about eating garbage. A cookie that has 120 calories instead of 150 is still junk food. All these "50% less fat," "fat-free" or "reduced calories" are emotional decoys.

If people really want to lose weight they would get serious about it and do their homework. Companies can certainly be blamed for misleading people. But a person is responsible for how they look. Excuses are excuses.

Yup.

aren't lazy as a whole.
Yup. Which is also why you're fat. You can only work so hard and be under so much stress before you gain the pounds. You know why French girls are so sexy? Because the French have so much time off. They are not only productive but happy people as well. They have a month of vacation almost every year. They are free to live.

America? Not so much. You'd be lucky to have a couple of weeks. Many don't even get weekends off. You guys are overworked and underpaid. And because of that, efficiency suffers.

Happy motivated people do TONS of work. Just ask the French. Very productive people. The Germans as well. And guess how much free time they have? Lots.

I have a small amount of free time and I'm still pretty lean.. Lifting weights and exercise isn't working hard for me as silly as it sounds, it actually relaxes me in my day and makes me feel pretty good afterwards.

While I agree America's stress levels are high, have you ever talked to someone from South Korea? How their middle school and high school kids basically study and sit at a desk many hours day in addition to their schoolwork and homework? Not to mention they have much harder math science curriculum than we do, a much more intense academic competition setting and their obesity rate?

http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2011/04/113_42993.html

"South Korea has the lowest obesity rate among the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a poll showed Sunday.

Japan had the lowest levels of obesity and overweight, followed by South Korea and France. "

So yeah France is in there too like you said. But Japan and Korea possibly 2 of the most stressful nations to live in due to academic competition, and the culture that pushes one to succeed academically no matter the cost, have even lower obesity rates. It's not just stress, it has to do with everything backbreaker said, people making stupid choices about nutrition because they don't know anything about nutrition.

Backbreaker is right in that the average American has no idea how to eat. Saw a woman at the salad bar today make a low calorie salad. Then added 2 packets of Newman ranch to it effectively adding 600 calories in fat alone.

kill two birds with one stone

park as far back as you can in parking lots.
+no one will park beside you(for the most part) prevent door dings
+those extra steps do help

i WAS obese for several of reasons at one point (but no longer doing this)

$.99 cheeseburger and $.99 fries for lunch or dinner. simple, fast, cheap, don't have to cook or prepare food
i could go thru drive-thru there on my way home and not get out of the car
healthy food is expensive over cheap 1 dollar microwaveable foods
all you can eat buffets- CHEAP! lol

i used to think you get more bang for your buck.

not my way of thinking anymore. i used to have trouble breathing while walking! i did have health problems that were associated with me being obese. is that $.99 worth the clogged arteries? or risk for stroke? i don't think so now.

Regarding the French, the people in the region Gascony eat far more saturated fats that anyhere in the world and yet they dont have the obesity or heart disease issues which plague the west, the French are by comparison very healthy despite this 'poor diet'!
I am utterly convinced that the 'devil' ;ies within processed food and the sh!t that is added to it

I would add, whatever kind of diet you do,...STAY WITH IT! Changes to your body won't happen overnight.

Too many people give up after a short amount of time after they do not see any improvement. Anyone who has ever been to a gym after January 3rd knows it is packed for the first two to three weeks and then by February it is mostly empty. They get too discouraged about not seeing immediate results and give up. Have the mental fortitude not too and you will be rewarded.
