I live in Australia. Let me save you the troubles of moving down here by declaring that a big fat FALSE.

We either matched or overtook the Americans earlier this year as the fattest nation in the world.
Are you ****ing kidding me???

Well, can't be worse than the UK, surely to god. Everyone here says Oz is how the UK was 30 years ago.

Why do you reckon that is? (that Oz has gone down the ****ter?)

I would LOVE to see some class action lawsuits vs. Mc Donalds.

An interesting difference between cultures: how they enjoy eating.

I traveled to Nis in Serbia where we met up with someone we knew who would show us around the city. We preferred to avoid tourist traps, so we requested to hang out where the locals did. One such establishment was a cafe located on the second story of a building near the down town strip. You basically seat yourself and the waiter comes by and asks if you want drinks every so often. Everything is in small portions and you take your sweet ass time chatting with friends. We chatted for hours with the person we met up with, and amongst ourselves while hardly consuming everything. Drinking was secondary to the social experience.

Fast forward to a recent bachelor party. Many events were planned in a day, and diner was thrown in to a small time slot. It was an all you could eat buffet, and everyone was focused on eating and not as much on socializing. It was easy getting caught up in the crowed mentality, and I found myself gorging before I called a time out and started to socialize. I found most of my attempts were in vain unless I was talking about food. No one paced themselves, it was a fill up as fast as you can with as much as you can. The idea of chatting amongst friends was secondary, or even tertiary if one considers the racket made about the food itself.

Echoing someones post earlier, I feel that some of societies habits are irrevocable. America pushes people to do as much as they can as fast as they can at the expense of the moment. We don't seem to appreciate anything except how much more we can out eat the next guy. What is sad is that western Europe is attempting to emulate the states in several regards. Lets hope this does not happen as I need a vacation spot over the years to escape from the states!

The food and beverage industry lobbied congress a few years ago to pass a statute making such lawsuits illegal. They pushed it through the republican congress and GW signed it right away.

My idea is to make drive-throughs illegal and mandate that all doors be made about a foot and a half wide. This would make it impossible for fat people to get fast food.

I was just discussing this with my boss the other day. Since when did fat become normal? Just recently we went over policy concerning overweight girls with our promotions staff. If our promoters bring unnattractive girls to clubs they may not get paid. No BS if you have a group of 7 girls to walk into a club and 3 of them are fat, you score a zero for that group and don't get paid for them at all. Alot of the promoters were like damn there goes the easy money lol!

Out here that appreciate me for who I am crap don't fly! It's not sexy and nobody wants to see that.

some men have been attracted to fat girl since well...ever, but
the past few years it's been talked about as some huge phenomenon.

fat girls want the security of knowing their attractive from men,
they get it from SOME men but one stare from someone or a snicker and they go back to being insecure.

you'd be lucky to met a fat girl who's not insecure, does'nt have her self esteem depended on by men and not bitter/angry towards skinny girls

Oh you'd be suprised at the number of girls who are down with this whole BBW crap. Some of these heffers are big and proud of being big. I'm fine with that but in the world of the nightlife and pool party, we are not impressed. Bill board models are the ones who draw major crowds, the big girls we keep behind the ropes.

I stray from the point, a ton (pun intended) of larger girls get enough attention from "chubby chasers" to the point where they no longer seek approval from anyone and that's all good an well. It's when the get offended that my host don't give them all the attention they want because of their size, get all POed. I mean for f*cks sake, we don't even pay too much attention to legitimately hot girls who are 10's in the books of average men. We do utilize them more but pandering to their attention wh*re whims is not on our list of things to do. We care about them because they make us money. Big girls don't make us any money because not enough paying guys will pay a 20-100 dollar cover to see plus sized women.

I honestly wish all of them would have easily broken ego's like you described. It'd make my job alot easier. I'd be able to put them in to C and D level clubs, get paid, and save face very easily. I'd be able to tell them the score straight up "you're not hot enough to get in here but you could go there and be fine." Saddly that's not the case. They have it in their mind that they're 10's when they're on the bad side of 5, and they want to go to XS or Tryst where I have to have a group of solid 8's or better to make money and don't understand what it is to be a legitimate high dollar looker.

No, people just need to learn personal responsibility. If McDonald's disappears, someone else will step in. McDonald's would disappear on their own accord if the demand wasn't there.

Fortunately, we're part of the solution on this forum by refusing to settle for fatties! I don't want my future wife after I settle down dropping dead from heart disease. Plus of course I just want to be able to look myself in the mirror and not say, what the hell was I thinking...?

You got to admit though, it's an interesting dynamic in Western countries...some in the elite class starve themselves with anorexia, and the poor are the ones who are obese. For much of human civilization, it was the other way around, where the wealthiest would gorge themselves, and the lower classes were skinny--not because of an eating disorder, but because they literally had no food.

in north america over weight people are the norm, and there seems to be more and more morbidly obese people too.

lol, awesome idea. But then they'd sue everyone claiming that they were starving and couldn't get access to food.
