Yeah, I think the rice burner thing is stupid. Most of these guys just cut the exhausts and they are still just running a 4 cyl. honda. But, it's something they enjoy, just like I enjoy trucks with big motors, fishing, yeah, I'm a redneck.

well usually its the principal of picking up women BEFORE you get in your car and if you keep it clean and working it will get you points but not how big and expensive it is, I myself own a 76' 180Eclass mercedes with spoiler, its practically a racing car that tops out at 210, it was BUILT for the autobonne (sorry if its spelt wrong) the only comment you should get from a girl about your car is "that backseat looks comfortable"

and on the subjet of geeks and women, well you can score MAJOR points with a woman if shes a geek too, (geek in the sense of very wise in certain subjects but not obsessed) it makes the chatting up process a breeze and the faster the better eh gentlemen?

If a guy wants to fix up a car and make that his hobby so be it. There is nothing wrong with it. What i have a problem with are these freaks that think they are living in a movie. It's a big ****en joke. Girls see right through these losers.

When a girl sees a guy in a nice car she sees it as a sign of success. These Geeks with hondas are not successfull. They are just using daddas money and trying to look cool.
A man should only have a nice car if he IS successfull. Otherwise consider yourslef a ****en looser.

Heres the funny things about ricers: those fartcans they put on the exhaust tip dont create more horsepower, they create more noise. Those huge wings add weight & only create significant downforce at over 120mph (something a 110hp eco-crapmobile would only experience going on a cliff!), they lower most of these cars by cutting the springs instead of replacing the shock w/ coil overs. Why dont these guys start w/ a real sports car like a rx7, Supra, Vette or trans am & go from there. I understand that some of them are short on $$$, but i have seen everything imaginable as far as ricers are concerned here in so cal. The goofy graphics w/ names of racing engines plastered all over the side of the car gives me a good laugh too. They always have baseball caps on backwards & smoke cigerettes. Or how about the neon lights underneath the car? Thats some funny sh1t. heheheh.....If you look at the more prominent sports car manufacturers like Porsche, Ferrari & Lamborgini, they got where they did because they made great OVERALL cars. Powerful brakes, responsive steering system, styling, powerful motors, awesome racing history, hi tech material construction. No one is really impressed by a lowered Civic w/ a fartcan on it. Do they really think they will get babes w/ these cars? I just laugh!

Exactly. I have a 2000 SS Camaro and I have yet to be beat by a Honda. My car only has 322 rwhp and 328 rear wheel torque. Luckily, I got the LS1motorsports turbo kit on order that should help a little

How hard is it to understand that building a Honda is just another way to go?

Its not better nor inferior to a V8.

4 cyl and V8's each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and it also depends on what your using the car for. I'm not gonna go into the nitty gritty details of why a 4 cylinder can be advantageous or why a V8 can be also, because

1) no one would probably understand it

2) even if i presented the facts, people have trouble overcoming their emotional biases to accept the fact

3) its not really a matter of debate unless your building a car.


just like in america we build V8's, in europe and japan they hop up little four cylinders. different cultures, different purpose.

I knew they parked in a specific order because we watched them. My girl told me she had seen this before and they all park according to status.

I don't really see the significance of your post either. It should be clear from my post that i'm trying to point out the following:

1) women are not impressed by honda freaks. In fact they see right through them.
2) It makes you look immature to drive a car like that.
3) A real man makes his own way in the world and doesn't use daddys money.
4) these guys are making up for something they are lacking.
5) a real man doesn't need a hot car to get a woman. In fact a real man would take his **** box out on a date to test that womans worth.
6) these guys are not living in reality they are living in a movie.

Can you say that guys like this are DJs? I can't. In fact some of the responses are very AFCish.

Just because they enjoy driving around in riced up Honda's does not mean that they are AFC's. How boring would the world be if we all drove the same model cars and there was no choice?

I am a car enthusiast and enjoy attending organized cruises where other fellow car enthusiasts can meet up, talk about cars and then cruise together on pre-planned routes. It's a social event and usually its a night where the girl-friends are left out of (maybe a night when they can spend time with their friends?)

Your argument is flawed as you seem to be generalising, everyone has a hobby that they enjoy and spend time on, people are different. Just because ricing up cars and going on cruises isn't your thing, does not mean that other people that do enjoy it are "losers".

I'm not saying that i like riced up cars, but my argument is that if these guys want to spend/waste $$$ on putting stickers on their cars, then thats THEIR choice.

They could be part of a car club and their girlfriends are home while they hang out with their mates. For all you know they could have bought those cars with their hard earned dollars. Perhaps they enjoy what they are doing and don't feel the NEED to go pick up chicks all the time. And as we all know women as our number one priority is not very DJ like

I for one don't like rice boys but if the mods are done for performance good on them. Perhaps they had engine transplants or had some insane mods done to them. It's a hobby. Deal with it.

I know that when a person has a nice car or a done up car it does help him get the attention from chicks. But I think its upto the person himself on why he likes his car or why he bought that particular car, or does he spend so much money into his car. Everyone is different, for me I have been into cars since I was a kid and most of time my brain is occupied on what will I do next to my car. Yes I love racing, its even cost me my licence. I dont race to look like mr. bad boy, or to get the chicks, but I love the speed, and that feeling when your car accelerates really hard and pushes you back into your seat, I have been stoned racing and it is sum fvcking buzzy sh!t (I just got my PPL and I guess I am a bit of a speed freak). I dont belong to any car club or anything, me and mates most of us all have the same cars ( Nissan Pulsar GTiR) and we hang around each other because to them. They are kinda different to what everyone drives and we love those little road rocktets. I had to get a loan out to buy my car just like most of my mates and all the mods I do it come from my own wallet. For some reason it feels really good to earn the money you spend on yourself or something you like. The attention I get from chicks is just a bonus, to be honest I dont give a rats a$$ what the chicks think cos most of them dont know sh!t bout cars, or they just pretent to know, all they care is about looks and comfort so doesnt matter if its a honda or whatever as long as it looks good they will give their thumbs up to it( I have taken out the air conditioning, the electric windows, replaced them with the wind down ones, taken out the back seats, replaced the front seats with light az bucket seats. I have ripped out the carpet from the floor and the back, I have even taken out the stereo, well it wasnt working properly in the first place and this chick that jumped in my car to have a look at it said " your car is ugly from the inside it even hasnt got carpet in it" my m8s laughed but I dont give a sh!t cos that chick drives a toyota corolla and all she knows about cars is as long as you fill petrol in it it will go). All I am trying to saying is that everyones different and dont stereotype people until you get to know them and yes Hondas do suck, na just kidding (they are just ALL SHOW AND NO GO kinda cars)

00kevin, like you said on a date I wouldnt take my car but rather take my mums instead, save up on gas and also I would be able to pay more attention to the chick instead of my car.
