Midway through a 71-63 victory over Richmond Dec. 23 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, UCLA's "Mistletoe Cam" cut to a couple seated courtside. The man reaches into his pocket, pulls out a ring and says, "I knew that I was going to do this since the first day that I met you, and I figured now was as good a time as any." His girlfriend's response when he gets down on one knee and pops the question? Well, let's just say it involved an awkward pause and running in the other direction.

That video was hard to watch. I feel for him.

Wow, that was really sad. The cold ***** could've at least said yes to help the guy save face on national tv, then later tell him. No. I mean who would know right? I guess this also proves that if a woman really wants to marry you you don't need to get down on one knee to get her to say yes. Just very cold.

I sure didn't do that, or any other cheesy BS. Married 18 years and counting....

LOL! That is one lameass AFC, I certainly don't feel for him! :kick:

Let's start feeling for real men which fail when trying to do something awesome, not for pussies failing at some cheesy bullcrap, mkay?

I would never propose in a public place or at a sporting event, extremely lame and unromantic. Hopefully guys will learn from this.

Not gonna watch the vid (that awkward stuff makes me uncomofortable as hell), but proposing at a sporting event is lame... very, very lame.

If you find a woman special enough that you want to propose to her, find a more personal/romantic/thoughtful way to do it. Something that involves just the 2 of you.

These bold proposals always seemed a tad over the top to me.... Like the guy thinks she'll say no, but if he gets her on the spot in front of tons of people, how could she say no? She'll HAVE to say yes.

Well, I guess not.

Props to the woman for saying no, if she knows she doesn't want to marry him. Why say "yes" just to save his ass, when HE was the one who put her in this incredibly uncomfortable scenario, in the first place?

That was pathetic.

A sporting event? Really?

Look, we know that men's emotions run high during these things; men with weak realities tend to acquire a sports team (that wouldn't gibe a f*ck about him) into their egos. Their testosterone levels are affected by the performance of "their" teams.

I'm all for sports; however, there's a point where it's pathetic. And this crosses that point.

The woman probably wasn't too into sports and just went along with him because she was his girlfriend, much like one of us will occasionally get tricked into watching some gay movie at the theaters.

And he said that he knew that he would do that to her since the moment they met; that's really creepy.

That's a class six chump.

I'm also making alot of assumptions, but in the world of the internet, I am right until proven very wrong by someone nerdier than me.

Beta males following the Alphas or so they think.

There's a difference between liking sports and being a sports fan. One increases the testosterone, one reduces the testosterone.

I didn't think about it that way but you do have a point. Still considering they must have had something going on between them for a while for the guy to feel confident proposing and since a lot of people have also proposed publicly...not like he did something totally unheard of. She should've still helped him save face. I guess when a woman you think you are gonna marry walks out on you in front of all those people then that relationship might as well be over at that very moment.

Wow, Espi so you are saying this girl turned him down just so she can get an extreme high for turning a guy down?

Absolutely!

In my opinion, a big part of women being "picky" has more to do with a sense of ego validation than it does with actual "standards."

The pickier a woman chooses to be, the more valuable she feels inside.
.
Agree

except for one critical change....the pickier a NON HOT woman (like girl in vid), THE MORE VALUABLE SHE IS TRYING TO FEEL INSIDE. with emphasis on the 'trying'.

This is the example of a girl known as the 'picky hb 5-7'...you've seen them at bars everywhere...she's the girl who is acting as though she is 2 points above where she is...an 8 guy approaches her and she has no time for him..the 8 guy feeling his ego bruised tries to validate himself...the girl is only a 6 yet the 8 guy is still trying to win HER over.

the 'picky 5-7' is so deeply insecure that she creates an inner fantasy world that she projects outwards...this fantasy world has her rejecting hb8 and 9 guys left and right....it gives her immediate validation. she knows she could never keep them so she ejects. Even if one wants to marry her, she is so filled with self loathing that she has to get out.

One might argue that hb 8-9 guys don't approach 6-7 chicks...not true. they do it all the time. they do it because the 8 guy assumes the 6 girl will be an easy fvck...not always true. the 6 girl is more likely than not insane in the head after years of watching her 8-9 girlfriends get all the guys...she has revenge on her mind. remember this fellas next time you see that average chick at the bar

Quite insightful Burroughs. Thanks for sharing that.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

EVERYTHING AT SPORTING EVENTS IN AMERICA THAT IS SHOWN ON SCREEN IS STAGED. Too much is at stake in modern day America for anything to be honest and real.

Here you go...I refuse to post the more than 100 rejections.

Sorry, but you boys are not too bright. Step up your games!

Oh well, I am back to watching exiled British photographer and all-around pervert David Hamilton...Now, that man is REAL!
