Most the feedback seems good as far as it not being herpes, but are you overlooking that it's come and gone several times, I'd say 4 or 5 over the last couple of years? I don't believe cankers do that and as for that oral thrush thing, could be, but I almost never get sick so my immune system seems fine.

Dude, you'll be okay. That pic wasn't herpes and you certainly don't have oral thrush.

The fact that it comes and goes means squat. Little, tiny sores like that can be caused by a number of things and they usually go away after a few weeks. They just suck while you have them. If it's freaking you out, then go see your doctor.

canker sores will have a red inflammed circle around them and will appear in the non-keratinized tissue of the oral cavity. they are brought on by many things including stress and a weakend immune system. they are painful and resolve in 3-7 days. they are treated symptomatically. salt water rinse or a cholorhexidine rinse will help.
type 2 herpes can be spread via sexual contact. for that you need valtrex or some other antiviral. go see your PCP or your dentist for an rx.
thrush is a fungal infection. it can be brought on by a weakened immune system or a large dose of antibiotics. or even leaving ur dentures in overnight.

while i wont give my professional opinion based on web pictures that look similar to what u have on ur tongue. i will say i dont think you are about to die any time soon. next time use ur fingers.

I usually get those canker sores every once in awhile. No biggy. Get it checked out if it really bothers you.
