For me. I can't grow a full beard, but I can rock an awesome goatee with some five a clock stubble and a clean shaved bald head. When I shave clean I get mistaken for being younger, which is not bad with women, but is very bad in business. A little facial hair seems to help my clients take me more seriously.

I shoot for the Shamar Moore look.

I keep a short-trimmed beard or a goatee. The beard is very masculine and rugged and I have noticed a much better response from women. It's important to keep the upper lip trimmed so it doesn't hang over your lip. Women notice that kind of minutiae.

I went through a lengthy training academy last year so I was shaving my face daily for the job. I've continued to do so and don't mind anymore. I'm able to grow a full beard but it comes out RED and my hair is brown naturally so that looks funny. Whenever I quit shaving my head, I may decide to bring back a goatee.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

It depends on your face. Do you have a long, thin face or a short wide one? How prominent is your jaw line? Is your face angular or round? Do you want to look older or younger?

As with many things, you have to experiment and see what works for you. There is no hard and fast rule.

Abe Lincoln was widely considered to look more "presidential" with a beard because he had a narrow, gaunt face with jutting cheek bones. The beard gave his face more fullness.

Ryan Gossling, Justin Timberlake and David Beckham rarely rock anything more than minor stubble. All those guys have no problem attracting gorgeous women.

Bradley Cooper and George Clooney both seem to do well with a medium to thick stubble. Both these guys of course get laid like the superstars they are.

When going out for SNL, a bit of stubble. When going out to find a gf, clean-shaven.

Women that are ovulating are your best bet for SNLs and they happen to select for more alpha traits, one of which is facial hair. The reverse is true for when they're not ovulating.

I was rocking a full out beard, trimmed only when it seemed to get wild. Wasn't getting the attention I was when i rocked a short cropped goatee and head. I went back to the stubble style look, #1 trimmer on the full beard and head. The attention came back even without the clean up shaving of a goatee.

For me, keep it short, keep it sexy. YMMV.

Call this a weird opinion (there is no such thing IMO), but screw society saying beards are bad lol. No more bad, when one thinks about it, then hair on one's head. I'm looking forward to a society when the razor goes the way of the dodo.

I also won't be AFC and shave my beard for a woman. As said, it's my natural male hair growth, so screw women who think it's "ugly".

The quickie answer is: whatever pizzes off a lezbo is good.

Lezbos can't penetrate, so they hate you for having that power.

Lezbos can't grow a full beard, etc. Plenty of women do grow scruff (watch those Nads commercials), which is why castrating, trading-up, looking for better, cheating types are OK with short facial hair.

I say embrace the gray, and embrace the beard if you dont mind having one. I like to have a week-long shadow and I just keep it at that length. More comfortable for my face.

I find most women like the gray hair (I have quite a few), but the full beard is about 50/50. At the end of the day it's your face so do what you like.
Hell I wish I were going gray instead of losing my hair.

Anyhow, I've worn a goatee since I was 15 and only shaved it off once since then (last year for a Halloween costume contest where I was Elwood Blues.) I feel that it gives my face a better balance, especially as I still wear my hair nearly shoulder length. Never had a chick criticize my beard, even ones who complain about facial hair in general seem to give me a free pass.

I'm the type of guy who has a permanent 5'oclock shadow. If I don't shave every day, it's very noticeable. If I let it go after 3 days it becomes a pain to shave.

Also, I have a cleft chin. A big one. This is the biggest reason why I end up shaving, is that I get much more compliments on my chin (oddly) than any facial hair.

Would love to just grow it out, but don't think it would work for me. I envy you guys where it works for ya!

This thread is interesting. I see a lot of us saying beards are good, but I always thought the conventional wisdom is that they are bad. I used to have big sideburns but people would often say things like, "why cover up a pretty face with hair?" Traditionally, I say screw what other people think, do what you want to do, but now I'm trying to be a "real adult" and shaved it off gradually. I still got girls, but it was suggested I'd get more without it. This could be true, its hard to say though because I'm not in college anymore and girls/women my age are hard to find in the 'burbs. I've heard girls say they can think "stubble is cute but hurts when kissing." I personally love beards and when I meet a dude with one I feel a sense of camaraderie with them, because I know facial hair is persecuted. Since I'm job hunting, I have no facial hair. I think its a shame facial hair is discouraged because its such a big medium for self-expression and style. Its like seeing a chick with short hair, its a waste.

Facial hair was big in the 19th century, but began to fall out of style when gas masks were used in World War I by the troops. Also, a common thing people gripe about on this forum (and I agree with them) that society is feminizing males, being actually masculine is considered bad, and the common conception is that beards are also bad. The general trend in our globalist, western-dominated world is toward androgyny.

Depends on what youre trying to attract.
I found that when I had semi-long scruffy hair with a 3 day beard I attracted loads of girls.

When I had the dumbest idea of clean shave myself and neatly coupe my hair, most of the chicks were gone. Definately growing back some hair now.

I'm surprised no one said the obvious. I can't resist.

I'm against facial hair on women.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
