I have been using FB to keep in contact with my old friends who have relocated to other parts of the country.

Its pretty kewl and i enjoy seeing and making posts to my buds and girlfriends...

HOWEVER, the about 2 mths ago...i started seeing, in the "friends suggestions" section, a picture of my x-GF...and now this has happened several times.

WTF does this mean?

Of all the friend suggestions i get....all being from people i don't know...or are friends of another friend...I thinks its more than a coincident that she pops up as a suggested friend in FB.

What's up with this ? ?

IF you both know the same people,it will show up as a suggestion. My ex wife and I would have our kids, their cousins, etc. in common as friends. She would come up as a suggestion IF she was on Facebook.

The bigger question is why do you care? They aren't forcing you to friend her. Something about the"past" relationship is bothering you enough to post here about it. THAT is the question you need to answer for yourself.

Why do i care ? ? ?

Bha ahahahha.

Because my astute friend....at one time i had strong feelings for this girl (after all she was my GF for a number of years).

It's not just mutual friends, but she may have listed herself as attending a same school or company or something stupid like that...

You have to do what Facebook tells you too though. They know everything that is best for us and they are watching your every move...

Hey Nick...

Nope...nothing in common with this girl and no mutual friends...thats the wierd part.

They're must be some kinda of lurking mode...whereby if you view someone's profile several times...they showup on the targets web page as a "friend suggestion."

Don't get the "do whatever FB commands" comment. *(must be some inside information that you have that the rest of us don't).

You have SOMETHING in common with this girl. Facebook does not stalk you and track your relationships.

If you don't want to friend her, don't friend her. It "means" nothing. It's not a divine sign from God that you should get back together with her. :p

Relax.

Facebook is a turd. I never 'friend' any woman I'm involved with romantically, nor do I accept from them. If they don't like that tough ta-tas.

Agreed... too much drama on there. I'm totally amazed at the amount of personal info people share out there.

LOL, just yanking your chain man! You don't ever have to friend anybody...

Facebook can be good/fun if you know how to use it.

Of course, never friend your plates. Always keep them wondering...

Oh I agree with that...but it's the price of being "social" in today's society.

Facebook itself isn't a turd...it's the people who are on it. :p

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Thanks sam...that kinda makes sense...

BUT then again....it doesn't.

I opened that FB account with an anonymous email account...so no one actually knows it exist so...? ? ?

WEIRD ? ? ?

I'm not against FB...and i don't reveal any personal Chit on there...nor do i use it to hit on chicks. I use it for its intended design.

FB is no doubt covert in their methods...to attract users....

Facebook "partners" with email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. so when you log in, it can tell whom you've emailed in the past. So if you've ever emailed your GF, even years ago, it will figure it out and cull friend suggestions with that information. Facebook also cross-references other sites like Yelp and Fandango (movie tickets). This is all so it can advertise to you in as specific a way as possible, and it's what makes Facebook so perpetually creepy.

I deleted my Facebook account months ago and haven't looked back. Not trying to ride a high horse or anything, but in my opinion once you get past the catching up with old friends novelty, it is not only a colossal waste of time, but nothing more than a platform to be advertised to. (This makes it good for businesses, artists, etc.) I would also add that it contributes to the feminizing of America as it turns (or exposes) a lot of men into chick-like narcissists and attention wh or es. My advice, if you want to use it as a seduction tool, keep your information as limited as possible, post very few pics, and log in maybe once a week.

Otherwise, do yourself a favor and delete your account. It's sad but this will make you an iconoclast.

Jesus...(sigh).

Another "profound" statement from the So-Suave crew (good grief).

:(
I wouldn't call someone with 78 posts who joined this month to be part of the "So Suave Crew". He probably didn't mean it to be profound anyway. Pull the stick out of your butt.

either way this stuff isnt hard, especially if you actually take the time to read the articles on the front page before posting. you cant break the rules in the e-world as if it doesnt count and get away with it either. if a woman really wants to talk to you you shell show up in person not give you the run-around on some website.

FAKE-book = as in its easier for people to sling bull around because its more difficult to verify.

stop texting, stop calling, and DEMAND people (not just women) deal with you face-to-face and youll stop having so much to whine about.

Well, not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but they are somehow able to thread stuff together. Don't ask me how. It's a little creepy.

If you log in to Facebook, then start browsing elsewhere while still logged in, FB can track your browsing history. So it will know if you log in to your OTHER email and may even see your address book. It sounds like I'm making this up but I'm not. It can essentially connect the dots that you know this person or that by virtue of their email address.
LOL ...nnnnno.

It does have a "feature" that catches trends while you are on facebook though. Within facebook. If you view someone with any form of regularity then it shows you more of that person I.e. Top right corner offers you pictures, more often than not, from people you view with any degree of regularity. The same goes for the search. Let's say you always look at some b1tch named Azule. You have multiple friends beginning with 'A', like amanada or Aaron, but you type 'A' and the last name alphabetically in that search should be Azule but will be the first in line. It's there to "help" you.

Could just be that she has searched for you or viewed you a few times.

Hit the little 'x' beside her name. You gotta be friends, to be friends with a broad on facebook. Nothing good can come of it otherwise.

It can scour your E-mail accounts. But I didn't think it did that unless you gave it your E-mail password and TOLD it to suggest friends based on it.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
