Eyes somewhat redish...

My eyes are always a little redish for some reason. The white part I mean. I do wear contacts, but I wear them for a few days, then wear glasses for one day to give them a break. So, anyway to get rid of the redness permanently? I know Visine gets out the red, but I'm looking for a more...Permanent option. I did a search already...No bleach or white out comments required. ;)

I've got the same problem. People actually have asked (on numerous occassions) if I'm high. There are a couple of different reasons you could be experiencing this, and things you can do to prevent it, but for the sake of brievety I'll just go through the most common remedies.

Firstly, buy or have prescribed to you a good antihistamine eye drop. You may have a mild case of allergic conjunctivitis. Also, you should go to the store and buy some vitamin A supplements (not beta-carotene). This is going to take 6-12 weeks before you see a large response, but nothing in life comes quickly, as you know... Perhaps some fish oil vitamin A (about 50,000 IU for 4 weeks, then 25,000 IU after). You might also want to try out some vitamin C, as it's a great healer. 1,000mg twice a day should do you well.

Oh, and take a break from looking at the computer so often. Natural sunlight is best - look out that window when you aren't huddled over the screen doing your moderator thing. :p

never had that problem so can't help much but i remember watching a tv programme about lasek in which this caller asked a similar question. The doctor was quite negative on visine. what he basically said was visine temporarily tightens the veins in the eye, hence getting rid of redness, however, in the long term that might just mess up the veins. so take it easy on visine.

Are you getting enough sleep? I wear my contacts every day and my eyes never get red. Do your eyes feel irritated alot? If so maybe you have some sort of eye infection.

I really might not be getting enough sleep. I can't remember the last time I got a full sleep without waking up or something.

I wouldn't say a lot, but they do feel irritated most of the time. I'll check about getting an appointment for my eyes.

If you're not getting enough sleep, then that's probably the problem.

There are some supplements you could take to help you with sleep.

I heard ZDA or something like that helps. Anyone know anything else? I'm also in college and don't have a lot of time, if that helps.

when you get red eye vains they are permanent, im not sure how they are corrected but, they can be caused by stress. and abnormalities when focusing (staring at computer screen, concentrating for long periods of time)

Permanent? D*mn. I've been wearing my glasses all day so far and they seem less red and the viens keep looking smaller.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

What you're thinking of is ZMA. I don't think you should purchase ZMA though since it's overpriced. It's real purpose is to increase testosterone levels, but if you're under 35 your test levels are already low enough.

Instead some melatonin or GABA would be good.

i don't know about you guys, but every time i wear lenses for more than 4-5 hours consecutively, my eyes start getting red.

i've also noticed that when i wear them night-time (even if i haven't wore them during the day), my eyes get red after less than a hours... what can this be caused by? just because of sunlight absence?
