If you guys talked about things and you decided to stay friends, then the polite and normal thing to do is to simply get her a card and wish her happy birthday, in the same way you would do to any of your friends.

She isn't your arch enemy! She was your gf one day, and it sounds like it wasnt a bad breakup since you have decided to stay friends.

Infact, you should be glad that she has decided to break up with you rather than cheat on you.

So be a man, and very casually just wish her happy birthday and show her that you are a strong ALPHA MALE and it will take a lot more than a girl dumping you to bring you down!
