Experience with laying female friends?

Anyways, what's your experience with laying female friends? Not people in "friendzone", but you know, girls you know or are near your social network.

Usually, any girl I deal with is at least 3 degrees of separation from people I am close with.

I doubt it works. I don't really get attracted to any women that I want until I've known them for a while, at which point we've been friends for a while and I'm not seen as someone to date anymore.

It's kind of an inescapable dilemma.
