Apparently arrogance is a theme in my life at the moment. An ex girlfriend from college made a post on FB about how she wishes she wasn't so arrogant and was more humble. So I inquired for more information.
She says she has a sense of entitlement, she thinks she derserves the best and it should just be given to her. She thinks men show throw themselves at her because she has a great career and is smart and well mannered. Turns out this isn't the case. She thinks if she can be more humble, find strength to be a godly woman and realize that the world is not as she expects it to be then maybe she can find what she's looking for.
Here's a bit of history. We dated in college, she was a cheerleader on the squad with my fiance and she was well within my friendzone. After the fiance nuked the site from orbit, I rebound to ms entitlement. I was still an open wound, went AFC. She dumped me. Later I dropped out of college did a lot of drugs, dj'd, promoted shows and partied my ass off. She went off to her lucrative career.
She came back a few years ago, blew into town. We hung out for a few days and then she started dropping the hints about marriage and kids and how I would make such a great father and that we should date. I dashed her hopes when I told her I never planned to get married and only saw her a friend.
Since then she's told me how she can't get a man. They want younger women, they are intimidated by her intelligence, they value looks over personality. She's admitted that she's irresponsible with money, can't pay her bills on time. She makes 6 figures. Basically she's hit the wall.
Even after all of this, she still thinks she deserves a good man as a husband. She's left plenty of good men her wake because they weren't "strong" enough, or to controlling, or didn't want to wait around on a wife who travels all over the country every 3 months. Now at mid 30s she's burning up the gym trying to stay in shape (she's ballooned up far and away from her slim with big tits college cheerleader days). She can't cook. Her car and apartment are in her words a total disaster zone. What's the upside for any dude?
Me, I'm no spring chicken and I'm really no catch. Fat, broke, self employed and struggling to make something happen in a crap economy. But I need all of that like a fish needs a bicycle. I can't see how it can help my life other than financially and that wouldn't be worth it, because nothing makes a woman's vag drier than having to reach into her wallet to pay for a man. Eventually that would be a problem. I could be a pimp and sell a dream, but at this point in the game I'm just not even interested. If she was younger and hotter maybe so. I guess I'm just like every other guy haha.
