I write using this style for various reasons.
One, its easier for me to read from my phone, which I mostly browse the forum from. However, I have recently seen it from desktop and I sympathize a bit. But it's still not too serious.
Two, you can talk about grammatically correct all you want, but I know for a fact this is easier to read rather than a properly indented, grammatically correct, wall of text.
Three, writing this way does not hinder comprehension, if anything, It makes it easier to understand. That's why the outlining of a writing piece if often done In bullet point format. Which easily highlights main points of a composition.
Four, I see forums as conversational, not as written articles. When you're talking to someone, do you speak in paragraphs? No? You speak in individual sentences or group of sentences which expresses a point. Similar to what I, and many others are trying to recreate with said writing style.
Five, I find that people will just bítch about anything. You mention something about school? Dude, of course no one is writing papers like this. There is a difference between a paper or an article and a forum. Which is also known as a message board. And if this style is seriously impeding your comprehension, I don't think how it's written is the problem.
Maybe text messages should follow standard writing conventions as well?
Damn those millennials, they ruin everything.
