This isn't the first time this has happened, but it's the first time I put 2 and 2 together.

Went out with some friends on Saturday night, and right before last call I got a call from another guy I know who was downtown and wanted to meet up.

So he stops by the place we are at, and maybe 20 minutes later they closed the place down so we headed out.

Turns out he was with a large group, and there were more people waiting for him at the limo. they offer to give me a ride, so we all jumped in and headed to my place.

I only live a few blocks away downtown, so my buddy designates my place for the after-party.

So it was 4 girls and 5 guys, and we are pulling up to my building when one of the guys makes a comment about not liking my new place "It's a step down for you, isn't it?" I explained that I didn't care for the place I was living before, and this was much more convenient, then I pretty much blew it off.

Then the dude starts in on he rims on my car, saying how he doesn't like them, blah, blah.

So we get inside my place, and one of the other guys starts trying to run the room. Can't really explain what he was doing, but you could tell he was "overcompensating".

There were three available girls there. Two were do-able and the guys were slobbering all over them. The hottest one was trying to get MY attention while these clowns were taking turns getting brushed off, but they were persistent nonetheless.

Now I don't know if it was the fact that these guys were out with this chick all night and as soon as she meets me they are getting blown out of the water, but these guys were trying to throw their d!cks around for some reason.

This happened one other time awhile back. A chick I know came by my place for some pre-game action and brought a couple of her girlfriends and her 21 yr old brother and one of his friends.

I drink a certain kind of vodka cause it's good sh!t and it costs about 1/3 to 1/2 of most super premium vodkas. So here's her brother, in MY house drinking MY liquor, talking about "This doesn't taste like Grey Goose". Well no sh!t there chief, it ISN'T Grey Goose! but it's still damn good vodka.

Anyway, these guys were playing it up all night....same as the guys last saturday.

I dunno....it could just be their AGE, but I have a feeling it also has something to do with the fact that they were in MY pimp pad and had to try to cut me down and assert their "alphaness" due to the fact that they know I have status they can't begin to touch when they are in their early 20's.

Its more or less one of those unconscious ways of being like how its said two roomates often take on certain patterns that work well together over time.

They were on auto pilot and they went full retard because they definitely knew you way outclassed them on some level.

You learn to ignore their reaction after a while but it does piss them off - especially when you can pull the chicks they can't because of your higher status

It doesn't necessarily have to do with age and immaturity. I think it always comes down to respect. And maybe some "street and life experience"

Of course they know very well ( even if it's deep down ) that they won't out-alpha you in a million years. But instead of showing respect, getting in line, shutting the f up and trying to learn something from you, they decide to go the other way and overcompensate their lower status. Girls of course smell that from a mile away and even the other guys see it. The only ones, who don't seem to understand, is them.

Someday they run into someone, who is more gangster/jerk/bada$$ whatever, and he will teach them respect.

But being laid back about it is the way to go. In the end those people will weed themselves out, because no real guys will want to hang out with them anymore. And the sad thing is, they know this too.

You right about the respect aspect. I'm a muso and hang around the local pub. For my age I have a good figure since I push weights and I have been in a couple of fights that has established my street cred. I have a bunch of young guys that hang around me who respect me big time - also I pull the young chicks as well, which helps all of us.

Those are the type of d1ckheads that usually end up getting their asses kicked out in the street for talking sh1t inside the bar.

I wouldn't even engage that type of senseless jealous criticism unless they just passed my personal respect threshold. Then I would probably tell them to get the fvck out of my place, in a degrading fashion of course. If they didn't, I'd probably escort them out.
