Interesting article:

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/us_obama_marriage/2009/06/03/221096.html

Even if you disagree with President Obama's politics, you gotta admire the guy for sticking to his guns, so to speak, despite the apparent lack of support from the woman who was married to the future leader of the free world.

WASHINGTON -- For all the smiling photos of Barack and Michelle Obama, the couple went through a tough time in their marriage in earlier years, according to a new book.

"Renegade," by journalist Richard Wolffe, says the couple's marriage was strained by Barack Obama's unsuccessful 2000 run for Congress.

Wolffe writes that Michelle Obama "hated the failed race for Congress in 2000, and their marriage was strained by the time their youngest daughter, Sasha, was born a year later."

"There was little conversation and even less romance," Wolffe writes. "She was angry at his selfishness and careerism; he thought she was cold and ungrateful."

When Obama ran for the Senate in 2004, his wife still had mixed feelings about her husband's love of politics, and played no part in the campaign, the book says.

By the time Obama decided to run for president, the couple's two children were older and Michelle Obama was more supportive.

"We're going to be fine," the book quotes her as saying. "We just have to make sure the girls are fine. We're strong enough to take anything on and be OK at the end."

Wolffe covered the presidential campaign for Newsweek, and is a political analyst for MSNBC.

It is upon him to set the example for American men. If he gets anymore of this crap from her, he should have a press conference where he sais, "Next!"

I didn't say his pimp-hand would get him re-elected. He's a Democrat and needs the women-vote.

I'm just saying, behind closed doors, I'm sure he has no problem telling her, "I got this, woman. Just shut up and be lookin' fine."

This is some bullsh1t I didn't know. So, he runs for Congress, probably works very hard at it, then when it doesn't happen, yeah he probably has a lack of confidence, maybe slight depression for awhile. So his wife, supposedly through sickness and in health, decides he's not the man she thought for awhile and gets pissed. Then, he regains his composure, comes back strong and wins the Presidency. Now she's his biggest supporter. Seems like she had an agenda when she got married. Awesome. And that's the friggin' President of the United States. It's funny how Kennedy and Clinton didn't have that problem, even after all the BS they pulled.

This is why, if I was a rockstar/sports hero/famous actor, etc., I'd never in a million years marry some chick I met out in hollywood AFTER I had become famous. I'd go back to my hometown girlfriend or something.

I don't think I'd put Bill in the DJ category... consider what kind of a reputation hillary has. She's probably been a refrigerator ever since they had a kid, and both of them have clung to the marriage out of sheer political necessity. Bill had to have the happy-marriage persona in order to win his offices, and she's just a ruthless (m)android. A typical form of AFC marriage, I think.

I disagree with most of his politics, but I do have to admit that he seems to really love his daughters. He won't even let the media take many pictures of them. My guess is he knows how many perverts are running loose out there with photoshop. His wife on the otherhand is a complete witch.

Wow. When a woman can get mad at a great man like BHO, it makes me wonder if a woman's natural state is to always have something to b!tch about with her man.
