Anyone hear about this on the news? I saw parts of it, both fans were throwing chairs at each other.

Why all the bad blood between the two soccer teams?

Or do both countries really hate on another? (Perhaps, because of World War II)

You should read some of the tabloids in the UK, they're always bringing up the war whenever there's a game between England and Germany. Then when England lose, it's like "Well, at least we won the war!" The same happens against Argentina. Generally there's a lot of racism promoted around world cup time.

You also have to remember that binge drinking is one of England's most popular pastimes, so add that to the mix and bang!

I don't understand all the fuss myself. It's only a game! It's the taking part that counts! The players still get paid and the fans still get...err....fvck all! :)

It was nothing really. Pissed up fans on both sides throwing a few plastic chairs and cups.

Hopefully with the banning orders of 3500 fans there will be no serious hooligans there to give us proper fans a bad name.

Come on England!!!! Never will we have a better team than now.

here's a good song to sing about the huns...

**extend hands to simulate an airplane**

There were ten German bombers in the air,
There were ten German bombers in the air,
There were ten German bombers, Ten German bombers,
There were ten German bombers in the air,

And the RAF from England shot one down,
And the RAF from England shot one down,
And the RAF from England, The RAF from England,
And the RAF from England shot one down,

**repeat by subtracting 1 from the number, continue until you reach 0!**

England and Germany have been uneasy since before Germany existed. The English were afraid of German unity because of their economic potential and the Germans thought the English were trying to retard their progress. You can see this as far back as the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

And in case anyone forgot, England beat West Germany 4-2 in the 1966 World Cup final and 5-1 in the 2002 qualifiers. :D

To be fair to the huns, here's a good song to sing about england..

Ten thousand troops marching to war,
One thousand troops marching to war,
Look at 'em with an angry gaze,
One thousand troops running away,
Nine thousand troops marching to war... (repeat until you get to 0)

Hey do the same fights happen in England vs France matches?
