Anybody have any experience with this stuff?

I was having sex with my girlfriend last night at around 7pm...condom broke I came inside her and when I pulled out I noticed the condom was completely blown up...it was a trojan spermicide.

Got Plan B pill from local planned parenting center for 34 dollars. She took the pills within 24 hours....

Any input or stories on this stuff?? Its supposed to be 95% effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within 24 hours and less effective the longer you wait.

How effective is the morning after pill? I would put it at least 97-98%, and the sooner you take it, the better off you are.

I wouldn't worry too much about this since she took it within 24 hours. Also, the condom had a spermicide which reduces your risk even more.

I've only had one experience with it, but the chick didn't end up pregnant, so obviously I was happy with it. We ordered it from getthepill.com; they faxed the prescription to our local Walgreens.

I need to get some of these to keep on hand for emergencies. Can you just walk into a clinic and buy them no questions asked? Those damn Trojans break all the time.

yea I checked around for prices at midnight or so...when I couldn't go out and get one....pharmacies it costs more.

It is cheaper at a community health center/ planned parenting center.

I payed 34 Dollars for it. I am going to get another pack soon just to have it on hand. And my girl is going to get on Birth control as soon as she gets the money.

You have to be at least 18 years of age to just walk in and purchase it. So bring that state issued ID. Hell the lady I got it from didn't even card me...I showed her my ID after I payed for it and after she gave it to me.....without her asking for my ID, I'm 20 and don't look it.

You can just walk into a pharmacy like CVS and ask for them?

In the USA?

And Trojans only break if your d!ck is the size of a Horse so start trying Magnums. I had this problem too.

Ok I do not think I have a huge wiener, the girlfriend says it is big...and it is kinda hard to get the condom on in the first place.

But yea CVS, Right aid, Walgreens, and any other big pharmacy. And after what just happened with me the 30-50 dollar price is not even close to being an issue. Like everyone says and the box says, the sooner you take the higher chance it works. Optimal within 24hours. After 5 days it only works about 55% of the time.

So magnum condoms eh? makes me feel kinda sexy.

hahaha :D

Oh and yes in the USA. And canada too im sure...dunno about other countries.

I never knew I could just walk into a CVS and tell the pharmacist I just got laid and the condom broke, "can you help me out?" LOL!

Plus, CVS is 24 hours and I am always humping into the early morning hours. So when it busts at 3 am and I am drunk, I can just walk to the CVS.

I can see it now:

"hold on baby the rubber just broke, take me to CVS so I can get you some pills.. why aren't you on birth control? **SLAP! Give me 50 bucks!"

I have a question about the morning after pill ... My gf is a virgin and she is not on birth control due to medical reasons. She is a virgin and is scared of getting pregnant if we have sex. When I mentioned the morning after pill to her, she mentioned to me that several of her friends who have taken it in the past got really sick, and in some cases so much pain that they had to go to hospital because of it. So now she is scared to take the pill, and I am not sure if there are any other alternatives?

Have any of you who have had a partner who has taken the morning after pill experienced any of the symptoms (or any other symptoms / side effects) that my gf has described?

I had a chat with a local pharmacist and he told me that the morning after pill can be used regularly and should not have any bad symptoms or long lasting side effects... & that back in the day maybe it would have but these days with medical advancements etc they are safe to use, and on a regular basis (i heard once that morning after pill should only be used 3 or 4 times in their lives)

Anyways, what is your guys input on this? (No offense to anyone, but I would appreciate it if only people who have had experience on this matter reply to this, as I am looking for serious and accurate feedback)

Thanks

BASICS:

- Morning after pill can be taken up to 72 hours after sex, it might be longer now. However the long you leave it the less effective it becomes, the best time to take it is asap after sex ie the morning after.

- It can cause pains of nausea, irregular period next time. But it might not. I have taken the emergency pill and everything was fine, my next period was just a week late.
- And ffs, surely a few cramps is better than a nine month pregnancy, painful childbirth and a lifetime of raising an unplanned kid.

- You're not allowed to take it more than once per cycle. Doctors tend to strongly advise not to take it regularly either. IT IS A LAST RESORT, NOT A REGULAR METHOD OF CONTRACEPTION. The progestogen-only pill or the combined pill are regular forms of contraception, along with others like the injection etc.

****Remember**** You can't get pregnant everytime you have sex, I think it's somehthing like 3-5 days in one cycle (typically 28 days, but varies for every woman) that you can get a girl pregnant, kind of like when the egg is 'ripe'. But you can never know when this is, you can only guess. So it is better to be safe than sorry and use the emergency pill. But, if the girl is likely to be having regular sex she should really look into getting on the pill or somehting else and not rely completely on condoms, because you should not rely on the emergency pill on a regular basis for accidents.

OP: I'd say it's reliable if she took it the next day. But if she's thrown it up soon after taking it, or has major diarrhea then it might not be in her system and so won't have worked, but otherwise it should be fine and all you can do is wait and see.

I read somewhere that the more you use it, the less effective it becomes. If this is true, then it really should not be relied on too frequently. That said, my ex took it maybe 3 times in the span of about 5 years and we didn't have any kids.

Are these pills the type that she has to take every day? Or just after we have sex? I am trying to find a method where she does not have to take a pill every day type of thing... is there anything in the market that could accommodate this preference?

The pharmacist that I spoke to told me that me using a condom should be fine on its own (with KY jelly but that doesn't help prevent anything, cept for reducing the chances of condom breaking), I would obviously prefer her taking the normal pill, but she can't due to medical reasons.. so I am now looking for a suitable alternative.. I personally think that using a condom is sufficient, but I would still be scared to ejaculate inside of her in case some of it slips though the bottom of the condom or something? My previous sex partners were all on the pill (the one u take every day), but with my current gf its not an option unfortunately :( What would you suggest as an alternative? Preferably something that she can take once off after we have sex, besides for the morning after pill? (something that she could take every few days)

I had to buy a morning after pill pretty recently. Came with a compulsory mini interview from the pharmacist in Boots.

My gf wasn't on the pill so condoms alone didnt reassure me at all. I pulled out everytime.

Everyday pill + condom is the way to go.

So long as you're using condoms properly, you shouldn't worry about busting in her while wearing one. The pill is actually less effective than condoms, so I would only use it in conjunction with something else. If you notice that a condom rips, or think some of your semen may have gone inside her for whatever reason, you can use the Plan B thing to prevent conception.

Umm...no. First off, yes you can get pregnant whenever you have sex. Women spend the majority of their cycle being in an infertile phase, but there is no single day that you can be 100% sure that no pregnancy will take place. Second, women are fertile for roughly 11-13 days per cycle. Not 3-5. And if you had to "guess" when these fertile days are, the rhythm method would not exist. This has a relatively high failure rate, so I wouldn't use it but there is a formula to determine the female fertility period based on the start and end of her cycle.

To the OP, I wouldn't worry about it at all. The chance of her getting pregnant with no contraceptive at all is minimal already. By her taking the pill within 24 hours lowers the chance of pregnancy to almost nonexistent levels. You're fine, man. Definitely want to step it up in the birth control department, though. For both of you.

I guess I better go get my sh1t tested for infertility, then. I'd bust in my ex within 5 days of her period every once in a while (and every time while on her period) and she got pregnant once in 5 years (which didn't come into fruition), plus the 3 times she took the morning after pill just in case.

Luck? Maybe. Infertility? I hope not...

edit: thinking about it, I mostly pulled out the remainder of the times we had sex.

hm... i'm starting to worry

/I know, I know, risky ass behavior

Have you never ejaculated inside of her while wearing a condom? If not, then what are your main fears? Condom breaking is a given, but what else could go wrong?

Oh yeah, sorry about that, I was thinking of sperm at the time, they can live inside a womans body 3-5 days.

Yeah I know you can estimate with the rythmn method but you can't be certain, it all depends on the egg(s). That's why it has a high failure rate, because it might not even be the same each cycle. If you have irregular periods you've got a bloody good chance the days your egg flaunts it's stuff is irregular too.

It depends on the medical reasons as to why she can't use the pill, there are two types of everyday pill so check that she can't use the other one either. Your best bet is to talk to a doc or someone about what its available considering her medical conditions.

I know this wasn't directed at me but the last time I took the emergency pill, the condom didn't split, but we had been having sex all night, he wasn't cumming inside me or the condom because he'd pull out but there had been his semen on his **** at times, like during oral and stuff. When we were having sex again the condom came off at one point, no more than a few minutes and so we got another one out and put it on .......but just that tiny chance there was semen on his **** from when he last came I'd rather be safe than sorry. Also because I had orgasmed a lot throughout the night I was worried it might make it more risky if there was a little semen inside me, I read somewhere that the vaginal movements in orgasms help draw the semen through the cervix.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.
