You can take in a lot of them easily in shakes, instead of cooking them and not being able to eat as many or take in the same anabloic make up. You have a small risk of salmonella poisoning so you shouldn't worry. If you choose to worry over that risk then you should be worrying about other things in your life that involve risk too like weightlifting, driving, second hand smoke, eating the standard american diet (high carbs, high fats, fast foods, processed foods,etc) ....
