This movie is doing the rounds on our version of cable TV over here in New Zealand.

I have avoided it because it contains the word "love", and it stars Julia Roberts - who makes me want to puke. I hate that bytch with a passion.

I have no doubt its some sh!t femcuunt movie. I am so sick of these type of movies and the "I love you man" fvcking crap type of shyt that gets made these days.

Actually I hate fvcking hollywood and the fags that run it.
Even the Hangover still had its AFC moments.

Bring back the 80's and Arnie, Sly, Bruce.

Just felt like having a rant.

I mad.

Feminist garbage is everywhere. I used to get riled up about it, but now I've just accepted it, or rather, became more "tolerant" of it.

Law 38

Think as you like but Behave like others

If you make a show of going against the times, flaunting your unconventional ideas and unorthodox ways, people will think that you only want attention and that you look down upon them. They will find a way to punish you for making them feel inferior. It is far safer to blend in and nurture the common touch. Share your originality only with tolerant friends and those who are sure to appreciate your uniqueness.
One of the main reasons I deleted my facebook is because I would often go into a rampage about some of the garbage I read (from both MEN and women). It's pointless. Knowledge is power, we know what we know, so let's just use it to our advantage. The world isn't going to change over night, and unfortunately, none of our rants will solve a damn thing. Men need to learn this lesson the hard and brutal way before a change can ever be motioned.

Agree. In the '80s we had Arnie, Sly and Bruce Willis. Men. Now we have these wussy little boys like Jake Gylenhaal or Leonardo DiCaprio.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

No offense man. But you sound like those 15-year old boys spitting hate posts about some Bieber album they most probably never heard in their lives. Just don't listen to it/watch it.
btw what I have seen from this movie didn't look like a feminist film. You admit that you've not seen it but still are angry about it.

Regardless of the fact I see neither Gylenhaal nor DiCaprio as a wuss (I hope that Titanic wasn't the only film you've seen with him):

You could say that it's a good thing. Real men are, indeed, a rare species nowadays. You can immediatly stand out of the crowd of sheeple by being manly. Win-win.

The reason why you don't see a lot of these hardened action heroes any more is simple: we live in a white collar world now, where the 80s were a lot more blue-collar. Guys could identify with Willis because he represented the hard-working man. The typical moviegoer nowadays sits in an office 9-5. It's not that Hollywood tries to brain wash you into a wuss, it's just the world as it is today in western society. Good or bad, you decide.

Lots of entertaining and insightful posts on this one.

Zunder you are 41, you should be doing some manual labor in your chateau, or growing grapes to make wine, or banging some hot 30'year old, making a million dollars, or some other cool hard-earned thing.

B!tching about chick-flicks and blaming the world is not one of them.

Sheesh you guys.
Does every post on here have to rival Plato or Socrates?

Can't you just have a good rant now and then?

ANd hey - while I dont have a "manual" job, I am in better shape now than when I was 20 - I lift heavy, hard, and often.

And since I gave up binge drinking & smoking, well, my A for "Attitude" is coming right back - naturally raised testosterone levels perhaps....

Dont take my what I rant too seriously....I dont go around muttering how much I hate Julia roberts under my breath.....but she does fvcking annoy me.

Oh, and Di Caprio? 'Wannabe hard man'. Arnie or Sly would kick his arse.

There's nothing wrong about an old man who complain about the pathetic condition of modern mainstream movies.

How can you disagree with him?
We went from "crime is the cancer, he is the cure" to "our warm love".

We moved from Bruce Campbell saying "hail to the king baby" before kissing a hot babe to king leonidas asking his wife permission before kicking an enemy down a well.

From tango and cash to will and grace, from a group of war veteran known as the a-team to a group of expired old b1tches and their sex and the city trip.

It's not a simple as saying to avoid those movies cause you all should know how media influence society, how media establish whats good and bad for the average citizen.
Especially women and their herd mentality are sensitive to that, no surprise most of advertisments are directed to women.

If you are creepy cause you hit on young girls and girls feel in right to kick your groin its mostly because they saw that crap in movies.
And also keep in mind that its the culture that shape the law, not the other way around, so you know who you have to thank for your unbalanced laws.

I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but the above link is pretty funny. She was married to a dude who by all accounts was a good guy that loved her and treated her well. Nobody's perfect, but even by her account he was doing his part in the marriage and holding up his end of the bargain. But she left him because she was "unhappy."

Double standards still exist. So many women praised this book and held Gilbert up as somebody to look up to and be inspired by. If a man divorced his devoted wife because he was "unhappy" and wanted to spend a year banging chicks half his age and traveling the globe, that would not be celebrated as a courageous choice.

Yeah I seen that movie. Its entertaining. But it is complete crap in its portrayal of reality. I dont want to spoil it for anyone. But it just isn't reality and its full of contradictions (like women..which is probably why they like it so much).

Like someone said earlier its good that we can spot this stuff out as some are just oblivious to it.

Wasn't Tim Robbin's character in Shawshank Redemption wrongly convicted? And I'm pretty sure Morgan Freeman was paroled, not escaped. Just minor nitpicking.

- Never mind, I see you were referring to Morgan Freeman as the convicted murderer and Tim Robbins as the escaped con.

Don't know about Jake G., but Leo was a total badass in Blood Diamond. I happen to think that he's a pretty good actor if he can go from romantic chump (Titanic) to Blood Diamond and be believable in both.

my wife dragged took me to go see the movie, and that is, verbatim what i said on the way out the movie theater.

in a nutshell, when a guy leaves his beautiful wife, to bang women from everywhere and try new things, and party, he's charlie sheen and gets called every name in the book, gets tV shows cancelled and so on

when a woman does it, it's eat, pray love

In the past, we had Charlie Sheen in great films like Wall Street and Red Dawn. Up until recently, we had him in shows like Two and Half Men <eye roll>.

I cancelled my cable television 5 years ago and don't miss it. Deregulation promised us more competition and lower rates. Cable tv bills went from $30 to upwards of $100+ a month. Plus the quality of programming got worse.
