Ok... so I'm young(21), tall(6'5), in pretty damn good shape(255 pounds at 10% bf, holding like 230 lean mass)

anyways,.... im addicted to marijuana.

yes addicted and no not mentally, physically.

if i dont smoke, i cant sleep(stay up till dawn and then i might pass out from exhaustion for maybe 4 hours max), i cant eat(talking like im lucky to get 1k cals a day, even if its yummy food)

now my thoughts was this... i might be addicted to the nicotine in the blunts i smoke... not sure. i think tis might be causing my withdrawl symptoms... anyways.. i want to quit... im ready to quit.... im starting the last two years of college and i need to focus on school.... and *****es...get this fog out of my head...

I've heard if you stop for a month, the memory problems will cease. You sound like a good friend of mine, except he's not "addicted...he just fvcking loves it!

Giving it up is hard. You've just got to quit, right there. Stop what you're doing and stop smoking, dont go back to it.

It's tough, damn tough. They say it's not a drug you can get addicted to, but thats bollocks.

Just... quit. No easy ways. Get it sorted.

true, but with a addiction percentage of only 4-7% percent it's highly unlikely.

If you're one of the unlucky ones (like a buddy of mine): just quit. It'll take approx 2 weeks to a month of withdrawal. Especially insomnia.

tips:
1. don't develop new crutches like eg alcohol.
2. don't try to stop using weed and sigarettes at the same time. Or if you don't smoke but use tobacco for your joints: Maybe you're also addicted to nicotine? (which has a addiction percentage of 99.5%)

thanks guys. ill prolly grab some stuff to help me sleep(over counter herbal stuff). and just stay strong mentally. i figure if i wake up 3-4 hours earlier the first couple days, maybe ill be tired enough to fall asleep normally.

don cruez - i think you're right. ive been smoking blunts(use the outside of a cigar to roll up weed). we dont use tobacco in our joints in the states lbut this is probably comparable.

and i dont smoke cigs either....

thanks guys

Dude, just give out all your weed and stay away from it. Put all your cash in a bank account so you don't have any at hand to get weed.

For sleeping this is easy. Run til you can't run any more . Make a 10 mile loop and run it. I am not kidding. Wear yourself out so you have to sleep. your addiction will go away fairly quickly and you will be much better off.

Cold Turkey was the best way I found to quit when I gave it up for about two months before summer started (thought I was going to get a job that had pee tests). Beforehand, I had smoked at least 2-3 times a day every day of the week for a couple months, so I wasn't your "casual stoner" by any means.

Sure, I blaze the herb now, but I did quit for a period of time before I got a different job that didn't test. Also, I severely cut down my usage (once or twice a week), so I'm not all brain-dead anymore.

Doing heavy exercise also burns out the remnat TFC in your fat, maybe that will help you quit easier too

I steadily smoked weed for about 4 years. Not because I was addicted, it was mainly because that's all me and friends did for fun. About 8 months ago, I just up and quit. I just got sick of always being broke and lazy. I also got pretty damn paranoid whenever I was around numerous people.

To this day, when I tell people I quit, they always look at me like I'm stupid or something. I don't miss it one bit.

^ Going with what he said.

A main reason I stopped was because I felt "dumb" a lot. Like I'd just space out and look at stuff then all of a sudden snap back to reality. I still rip the tube nowadays, but I just don't have this persistant "Wow, I smoked myself retarded" feeling.

Give it up for brain cells!

Good job. I saw a burnout - a true burnout - at a party a few months ago. The guy was absolutely pathetic... like his friends said that he was a completely normal guy a year before that, but just smoked too much - he was stone sober (well, high) and making a complete ass out of himself. People who didn't find out his story thought that the guy was mentally retarded to a degree.

Don't be like him.
