Yeah they'll take anyone on especially if its self employment and they don't have to pay a salary. All the risk is on the side of the "employee" - if he don't sell he earns nothing and there is no loss to the "business".

I am not in the USA so don't know that the market is like over there, I am in the UK. B2B is a slightly different beast to B2C. There are loads of jobs where you you walk into a shop and try to sell them something (i.e. B2B) but really most of these jobs (like 99%) don't pay a great deal (By great I mean $150,000 or over). Residual income coming from sales you made years ago is not too common but nice if you can get it.

Does your brother to residential door to door or B2B?
Life insurance.... he's making a lot nowadays if you add in his residuals. But door to door, he's a force.

Considering that "game" is about selling yourself, assessing sexual market value , and having confidence to approach and close the deal...One can see the parallels between "game" and door to door sales. Both require confidence, both require charisma, both require an ability to advertise something (door to door sales is a product, game is yourself), and both require you read responses from your prospect to gauge their reactions and take advantage of oppritunities.

When I was unemployed and hanging around the job centre some dodgy guys approached us and said, hey, you guys want jobs, everyone come this way.... led us to some temporary office they rented with a waiting area and one by one they would lecture people about door to door sales. "Dude it's such a great job, you get no pay, and you can keep a percent of everything you sell!" "soon you will be like me, I have so many guys working under me, hahahaha" I was like wtf and walked out. The whole experience was depressing as hell and I left their office feeling suicidal just from contemplating their "job"

Now I am an IT consultant so I need social skills to build up a working relationship with strangers and show them my value and I get paid the salary of someone who doesn't walk the streets. Still no good with women though but if some deseased vag and mind games is all the reward i get from chatting up girls every day i'd rather be celibate.

I did residential door to door sales whilst I was backpacking around Australia. The pay was commission only to start and you could earn up to 50-60 bucks a sales. The product (domestic products) was fairly easy to sell and you could sell up to 10-15 households a day providing you had a jovial spirit coupled with a solid plan and technique. It also helped that I had a British accent so I could engage with a lot of the locals and have good banter.

I lasted in the job a year and got promoted up to team leader – we travelled round the whole country with fellow backpackers (French, Germans, Americans, Dutch, Argentinians etc.) visiting towns and villages – some were beach towns. It was particulary tough for people who couldn’t speak the native language so there was a high turnaround of employees. A lot of the backpackers also couldn’t handle the rejection element of it. The key was too embrace the rejection and accept that it comes with the territory. My motto was – the best outcome was you get a sale, the worst you can have a good chat, make people laugh and have a cup of tea.

The working day lasted 6 hours - Mostly in hot sunshine so it was t-shirts, shorts and flip flop attire. Being within a group who are fun and competitive in a friendly spirit elevated the experience of the job. The negative ones were weeded out naturally.

It was so much fun looking back providing you kept the right attitude with a steely determination. It was a role where you had to be on your game. You definitely have your ups and downs and hearing ‘no’ for 2/3 hours straight can definitely hit you down if you allow it to. I know I had times of feeling like this, especially when it was p.issing down with rain.

It also helped with chicks also – my confidence raised immensely, you also pick up body language and little cues from customer’s that show interest or disinterest (eg. Flipping the pamphlet up and down without reading it). We were invited to a fair few house parties from customers which obviously led to beers…action under the sheets and waking up and hitchhiking a ride with just your underwear on! There was hook ups with colleaques also.

I would definitely consider trying it out if you plan on going travelling, or a summer job, or short term. Kudos to you if carve out a career doing it.
