THIS POST IS SO NOT FOR NEWBIES IT ISN'T EVEN FUNNY!

At some point in your DJ career you'll look around and you'll realize that you are no longer AFC... meaning that you won't act AFC EVER... even when you aren't thinking about it. The friend zone will effectively no longer exist for you. This is a glorious day, but it is also a dangerous time. You'll start having to deal with a whole different set of mistakes. Trust me on this, I've ****ed up many MANY relationships by overgaming girls... at some point, if you NEVER show interest, girls will crack emotionally. AFTER THEY'VE SHOWN SIGNIFICANT INTEREST IN YOU it's really okay to give a little bit back... don't be insecure and worry if you'll come off as AFC... it'll **** you up... remember insecurity is AFC ;-)... Just do what you want and be comfortable with yourself. In the long run it's the only way to REALLY enjoy life.

WARNING! THIS IS FOR ADVANCED DJs ONLY... THOSE WHO HAVE REACHED THE ANTI AFC STATE...

IF YOU WERE WONDERING (even for a second) WHETHER YOU'VE REACHED THIS STATE, YOU HAVEN'T. TRUST ME. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU'RE THERE.

I don't want to jump into claiming this status but recently I feel that overdoing control, mystery and distance has caused me problems with my g/f.

There is a point at which if you don't show her something that makes her feel connected at some level (the devil being in the details) she will have to pull back (and probably go find someone who will let her in).

Everything is relative though, and how much you let in is tough to tell.

XANEUS,

Good post. I agree with you. It's not even a matter of having to be an "experienced DJ" or some corney label tht we give ourselves. It's just that we need to FIND ourselves and be comfortable with ourselves. When we can do that; we can break any rule we want and "get away with it" because it was never the rule itself that was appealing, it was the message and attitude that it conveyed.

Having a GF is a totally different ball game. If you don't give to her, then your going to lose her. The idea though is not to be a total "Yes" man - and be easy and do everything she wants to do. Have your own life and opinions.

I know many guys that have just turned their backs on their friends and life when they've meet a woman. This is wrong. She's got you by the b#lls and your thiniking with the wrong head.
