You do drinks or coffee. Modern women are barely worth that even more often than not. Pull or next.

Alcohol drinks only. Though a lot of women probably date for the free alcoholic drinks too. Plenty of women have gone on drinks dates with me and then ghosted. Getting ghosted after a drinks date stinks but slightly better than getting ghosting after an expensive dinner.

I might be willing to do an early stage dinner date if the date was arranged through a strong social circle connection. That doesn't typically happen for me because I've never had a viable social circle capable of arranging dates for me. Dinner dates in restaurants are something I won't do prior to sex when I've arranged a date with someone via cold approach or some technological means.

I used to invite girls to nightclubs/bars but saying we will start drinking at my place with some friends first. It's a perfect excuse for the girl to visit your place and know more about you and to check your place since she knows she might visit it later. They always arrive an hour later just to make sure she's not going to be alone with you. When they text, I always reply "my friends arrived and we're having some drinks". So no, I don't recommend dinner at your place initially..

I like to cook if it is the second or third date. It's a good way to make her feel "at home" and for you to show some cooking skills. Buying groceries is way cheaper than going to a restaurant so you can buy some nice ingredients (nice cuts of beefs) and even prepare some fancy dessert. A good bottle of wine you can get for $15.
