If so, what can I do to intensify this or use it after you have performed?

After I sing/play the piano, I have girls come up to me, give me compliments,

smiles, and they have puppy bowl eyes when you're performing and select

them from the audience and look at them in the eyes while singing.

I don't know how to react to this other than by saying "thank you" or smiling.

I don't feel fulfilled by doing this. What's a good way to take full advantage of this

and/or have a ****y & funny comeback?

I have a very successful-with-girls friend that is an average piano player.

This is what he does. He meets someone, goes out in a date, and eventually get back to his apartment. He has a keyboard right next to the sofa, so of course the question "do you play piano?" ALWAYS comes up. He says, well kinda, and the goes to play a highly emotional piece. This always ends up in sex.

He always tries to get them to go to his apartment, even if its for a minute before going out to a date, so that this happens.

Music is the great aphrodisiac.

Also, he considers himself a great piano player and he is NOT MODEST ABOUT IT, although he is borderline capable. 99% of girls eat it right up (except those musically talented).

Actually, this works so outstandingly well that I'm learning to play the piano. Almost anyone can play the guitar. The piano, that's a rarer talent, I believe.

Yeah its true, musicians do get laid fairly easily and i think this is why...

People love music for much the same reason they're drawn to sex, drugs, gambling and delicious food, according to new research. When you listen to tunes that move you, the study found, your brain releases dopamine, a chemical involved in both motivation and addiction.

Even just anticipating the sounds of a composition like Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" or Phish's "You Enjoy Myself" can get the feel-good chemical flowing, found the study, which was the first to make a concrete link between dopamine release and musical pleasure.

The findings offer a biological explanation for why music has been such a major part of major emotional events in cultures around the world since the beginning of human history. Through music, the study also offers new insights into how the human pleasure system works.

Basically chicks associate the musician with good feelings. Makes sense.

I hate the idea of musical "talent". I don't think theres such a thing as talent for music apart from bing able to recognize notes. Everything can be trained. I play guitar and it is one of the things that defines me. You can't be in your face about it though. Its not something you should really bring up in a conversation, but rather should be demonstrated. You won't win any points by saying something like "I play piano really well and sing like an angel". You have to impress through demonstration.

Talent is just the drive to practice to get better; if you follow the site it teaches that no one is really born with it, you just have the motivation or not...and as a musician myself, it goes beyond being able to recognize notes.

I agree with Blurry that it shouldn't be brought up as a trump card or something, to me actually I'm usually more embarrassed when talking about it than actually performing....lol, just something I need to work on. I've only played in front of girls a select # of time so I don't have huge experience in that regard, every time however they're all pretty amazed!! ("How do you do that without looking?!" etc)

I never got into piano or guitar for the attention though, so I think the big thing is to pursue it for your own interests.

To answer your question Robyn, why don't you watch a couple Beatles videos or something? Any famous musician could give you a good idea for C&F. John Legend comes to mind as someone more akin to your skills, he's pretty cool

EDIT: Damn I should have checked "Depends on the situation" because I've hung out with a lot of musicians who also come off as AFC, and other people weren't to impressed with them--sucks for them lol....they just came off as creepy holding a guitar if feel me

I disagree with you guys (Edit: Not you, San Jose. I fully agree with you).

There are those great musicians who have to work like a dog to develop their skills to get where they are, and there are those who have musical ability flowing out of them almost effortlessly.

Consider the EXTREME, the so-called "idiot savant", who can just listen to a tune and start playing it. There are those with massive musical capacity, and those who must trudge through hours and hours of hard work.

Regardless, winning is about taking the talents God gave us and developing them to the highest level we can.

And like any artistic endeavor, you can be a really "bad" musician technically, but move people to tears when it comes from the heart.

I had an interesting experience just last week. I played at a BBQ, and my stable of fillies from the organization where I was playing were practically mesmerized. With women, it's all about how you make them feel (SS 101), and music is a direct line into their inner minds, bypassing most if not all critical filters.

My trump card was that I learned a song that one of the women had told me previously meant a lot to her. I announced "Here's one for _name_ for her birthday. I learned this just for you." I played and sang this Beatles song and you could see the tears welling up in her eyes.

Three days later on July 4, I was swimming in her pool with another hot 32 year old from the organization, thinking how good life can be for the man who toils to excel at an instrument AND knows how to leverage it to his advantage.

What I really need to do is develop a more well-rounded repertoire that I can play off-the-cuff. I've always been band-oriented but I'm solo now, and repertoire is very important, more important than I've ever realized before.

As a guitar player myself I have many musician friends. Only TWO of them have real talent. These guys advance so quickly in their skills, and they have amazing pitch (they can tune a guitar in 30 seconds out of thin air, with no notes to go off of). True talent you are born with.

But for the most part people that play guitar generally don't have true "talent." They might have some talent, but not as much as the top musicians. I have friends that play guitar that never got good, they are still playing easy stuff and not advancing. That is lack of talent.

But for a girl, they really don't care what you play as long as you are decent. You can play easy songs like "Green Eyes," "Creep" or "Knockin on Heaven's Door" and they will think you are AMAZING and their hearts will melt. Most girls don't play guitar, therefore they don't know what a truly good guitar player is.

I know what you're trying to say, but I disagree. You're saying that it's the work you put into it that makes you good. This is true to a point, but it's like sports. If you take two different people working at something eight hours a day, one of them is going to be better than the other. One might be good enough to make it to the major leagues, the other guy might not. Whatever the difference is (could be IQ, could be anything) they call talent.

I don't think it's really appropriate to make a ****y/funny remark when someone compliments your playing. Just say thank you and let it go. Anything less than that is not being gracious. Or worse, not knowing how to take a compliment. That shows social awkwardness.

I used to play in rock bands back in the 70s and 80s. Those were different times though, music was held in much higher regard. Now days every other chump plays a guitar. Back then though, it was a big thing, and you had to be good to impress people (this was back in the days of Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, etc).

Anyway, I got a lot of women out of being in bands. Not that I picked up chicks on gigs so much (usually I was too busy with what I was doing). But there were a lot of people that wanted to befriend us and hang around us. They wanted to be around it (Remember, these were different times). So I got a lot of girls out of the expanded social circle we found ourselves in.

For the most part, I don't think I ever talked much about guitar to a girl. Once in awhile I would talk about the band is going to do this, or something like that. I just tried to be a cool guy. You did get some automatic status as a band member though.

Why does it have to be ****y/funny? Can't you just start a conversation, like

Girl: "Great performance."
You:"Thanks. Do you play?"
Girl: "No. Not since I was 5."
You: "It's easy. I'll teach you a simple one."

...basically, I'm saying you can turn the conversation in whatever direction you want. These girls are already impressed by your performance. It doesn't have to sound all "PUA"...you've already displayed your high value.

I play drums (above average) and piano (just about average skill-wise), but I LOVE the piano much more. And the girls like it, although few don't care.

Playing the piano is not something I bring up in conversation. Most people only know I play when they come to my apartment, and they ask me to play a piece. On rare occasions the conversation might drift to music and I bring it up casually.

If you have the time and patience to learn an instrument, please do. I'm an avid fan of music, so it was necessary for me to learn some instrument, but I just never expected it to impress women.

Happy learning, happy playing

I'm a ****ing awesome electric guitar player. I can destroy worlds and ****. But the electric guitar doesn't work when I'm alone.

Playing a 4 chord Oasis on an acoustic guitar works better. It's not that hard to play chords on a guitar. Learn the basics and get handy with them in a couple of months and you'll be playing Tom Petty songs, and every one loves those.

Canada, eh?
I don't think most women even care. That way you can score points with only some of them, also depending on which instrument, level of ability, etc. Playing anything will make a hot guy even hotter, but an average dude? Playing professionally- yeah, that's an instant bonner.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Of course Talent exists for musical people otherwise one person wouldn't progress faster than another under the same conditions.
The thing is that an untalented person may overtake a talented person if the untalented person is incredibly hard working and the talented person very lazy.

Talent * Hard work = Result.

If you think that talent doesn't exist - well. Let me put you to the test. I have perfect pitch. Not relative (as is often mistake for perfect). That means that with a reasonably in tune piano I can tell you what note you're playing (within reasonable range, maybe not the extreme top and bottom notes) without looking at the piano.
Now take someone who's untalented and show me whether they can ever do that in their life, with as much training as you want to give them. Relative pitch yeah you can teach them. But not perfect pitch. That's one of my very few "individual" skills that I have, I'm proud to say.

Relative pitch

Absolute (Or "Perfect") pitch

By the way I put "Depends how you handle the attention" because a lot of musos can be arseholes. But for most people, yeah do the old cheesy acoustic guitar strumming, cheesier the better usually, if there's a fan on, get that blowing on you like some cliche 80's soft rock video, and sing some self indulgent crap about relationships and you'll find yourself nuts deep before you know it.
Me personally though I prefer the girls who are into fetish music like Surf, Rockabilly, Psychobilly etc. and I play double bass and guitar, so for me it's more a niche market - limited selection.
