I randomly landed on a site talking about this and i looked into it a little. Its a form of autism in children and adults. Its a neurological condition that effects 3 main areas:

1) Communication

2) Understanding Others

3) Social Skills

This condition and its symptoms can vary from person to person, not any one person with AS has the same symptoms. Its harder to see in kids but once they reach adulthood, apparently its a lot easier to diagnose. There is no medication or cure.

An example of someone with Aspergers could be a person that doesnt recognize peoples body language, not knowing how to make friends or getting along with people in general, overactive behavior, and not being able to recognize and distinguish social skills overall....resulting in people not wanting to hang out with them and they dont know why.

Damn im no doctor but this kind of sounds like a lot of people on this site...myself included (I haven't been diagnosed). I didnt know lack of communications skills, body language, and social skills could be a mental condition. Honestly im kind of freaked out now.

Now I have to admit, I may not be the life of the party or the most social person on earth, but I dont think I lack the communication skills, body language, or social skills enough to where I have a autistic condition....but it does have me worried.

What do you guys think about this?...maybe theres someone on here with more insight...

personally I think it's a made up illness so doctors won't have to say "gee, I don't know what's wrong with you.."

People with such a wide range of completely vague, unmeasurable and untestable symptoms is just too easy for both the doctor and the patient to point out some "syndrome" for all their problems. I takes away the responsibility to do something about it.

At the very least, it is just a way for docs and clinicians to lump together "symptoms," since that's what they do. If you were completely happy with your car, and took it to a mechanic, I'm sure he could find something that needed work.

real or not, labeling somebody with any "syndrome" is dangerous because many times it effectively locks the person within that for life, with a ready made excuse for not improving one's self.

At any rate, if you are lacking social skills, being labeled with some syndrome certainly won't help.

theres a guy that goes to my school that has this illness and its pretty evident he doesnt just lack social skills or cant communicate, hes in an entirely different spectrum than that....so unless you make a habit of going up to random people and asking ridiculous questions or barging into quiet classrooms and making giant scenes and not thinking anything of it i think your ok

All I know about it is that it's within the autistic spectrum. That's why there are so many people that just use it as an excuse and remain stagnant for years and years in their couch, blaming aspergers for it.

Some guys seem to think that their social deficits are resultant of some neurological disorder, especially after trying to "fit in" with people for so long without much success. These guys then take the cop-out route and blame their social foibles on a condition that's beyond their control.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

The thing with Aspergers is those with the syndrome DON'T hide! They boldly bumble through life thinking the rest of us are wierd!

Try the website "Wrong Planet" it will open your eyes!
