Does a man's bike have to be a Harley?

I suppose this is kind of like the "driving a stick" thread. But one I think may have even more relevance.

So if we have another make of motorcycle besides a Harley, do you think it will delete points with chicks from our "Man Card"?

Thoughts...

My bike is a 1990 Suzuki GS500e. I paid $600 for it. Girls think it's a crotch rocket. It's actually sport touring, which makes everything from tires to insurance be a lot cheaper. And it gets 55 mpg.

Harley is a culture more than anything. Biker clubs don't allow foreign-made bikes. Harleys have their own fan base who are devoted to them. I don't know about the laws where you live, but in states without helmet laws, I hardly ever see Harley riders wear helmets. In my own opinion, that is fvcking moronic. One of my best friends died on a Harley last year. He and I used to both have R1s, and we always wore helmets. But he moved back to Phoenix, bought a Harley, and stopped wearing his helmet. A car did a lane change into him on the expressway; his wife was on the back. She was ok. He hit his head just right. He'd have been ok had he been wearing any kind of helmet at all.

Everything bible belt said. All the gear all the time no excuses. When you're driving and riding for everyone else on the road you cant afford not to.

It all depends on the woman. Some know stuff about bikes and some don't. I think most won't care as long as it looks nice to them.

Harley

Had a few, have one now.

Nothing compares, not even the best Japanese look alike rip off. For a big bike it handles better than the knock offs, looks better, and generally rides better. Also lasts longer but that's subjective. My current fxdx was bought in 2003. Still looks great, almost 80.K miles.
Women are more comfortable on it, want to be seen on it, and will want to be seen with you on it, tell their friends..buy the boots, etc. Big social validation for chicks. Women envision themselves walking into a bar, restaurant decked out in boots, jacket, eyes turning her way. She'll want to tell her friends about her barely tame boyfriend she's able to pull.

Buells, BMW's, even a ktm 950 type bike have came and gone. I always keep at least two street bikes. Better performing bikes? Sure. The Harley is the panty wetter.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Short answer ; no. I own 2 , one of them is a Suzuki GSX1300 Hayabusa the other is a brand new BMW S1000RR. I saw it and fall in love immediately. I love sport bikes.

I had a couple of Hondas back in the 80's. Started on a 250 Rebel, which many thought on sight it was a Sportster. That's what I always wanted. Later on, got a '89 Honda Shadow 600. Then in late 90's got my dream bike, a '78 Sportster.

Had issues riding motorcycles ever since, due to a lower back problem which has recurred a few times over the years. Pilonidal Abscess. Makes riding very undesirable. Now that I'm getting that fixed later this month (for good this time, told them I want the fvcker removed completely instead of drained and sewed back up.) Will be healing an open wound from the inside out for two months.

Thinking about selling it, but chicks love bikes so much, and I'll take any advantage with them I can. But the Sportster (also known as "half a Harley, Skirtster, etc.) is less than comfy for a female passenger. So thinking about an older one, maybe a Super Glide of the same vintage. Trying to keep the cost down. I'm not about to spend 20 grand on a fvcking bike. And like you guys, I don't like the idea of riding with no helmet. Though I used to all the time. Had really long hair too back then...combing it out afterwards was an S.O.B...

But I always noticed chicks looked, saw the old bikes I was riding wasn't a Harley, and kept on. They are very picky around here. (likely everywhere).
So it's something I'm debating. Any comments pro or con are welcome.

I'm a big guy (6'4"). So when I rode, I liked Harleys best.

If you're sized right for them Ducati makes some bikes that look and ride like fighter jets - handsome things.

Without a brain bucket, you're just an organ donor in waiting.

If you want to kept the bike , kept it because you like it no because of the women. The same for all your hobbies.

Specifically, Harley Electra Standard..know a dude who bangs chicks (all "legal" ages, he's 46), he also is big, hunts, speaks spanish fluently, knows a ton of people like 5000 who ask about him ALL the TIME I sh!t you not, chain smoker, blond hair down to his a5s, and is full of himself, of course, never married.

On the other hand, I've talked about another dude I know/work with who rides a CHEAP as5ed dirt bike w/ or without helmet Everywhere in 20 degree weather even. He's 57 at least and pulls 20s po0n regularly, divorced, kids all grown. He even lives in a trailor park, and his women are probably THAT "classy" as well, but at least he's still nailin the young po0n at 57.

It depends on how much a girl knows about bikes. I ride a Harley, but I don't like tatted-up "Harley Chicks". A woman who doesn't know much about bikes will usually be equally excited about a Harley or an Asian or European bike if it has that general rough Harley feel. Rice rockets... only for the very young. More mature women tend to dislike them.

I used to own a Harley. Have a search for "Southpark Harley Fags." Funny episode that takes the (genuine piss) out of Harley riders. So frigging funny. I ever hear another Hog rider blip his damn engine again, I'm going to puke...

I've always liked them myself. In fact my brother in law and I are currently restoring a '72. I like the modern ones, too.

Harleys are way expensive, so I have a Yamaha cruiser. I don't care what chicks think, or anybody else. I bought what I was able to pay for. Trust me, 90% of them don't know what you're riding. Just ride what you like.

Ride what you are interested in. Don't buy something just to posture that is a ***** move. Me, I am 37 so I still enjoy riding 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and crotch rockets (much slower now) but when I am old the Harley may be a go to but for now I would rather be me and do what I enjoy then posture for a flipping women who will eventually disappoint me anyways
