I was reading this, and it got me thinking:
One student Jack interviewed described how she increased her online-dating activity to secure meals on first dates where she expected the men to pay. “She was treating Tinder as if it were OpenTable,” Jack writes.
my opinion:

There's a lot of women wanting "foodie calls" these days. There's a lot of articles on it, especially in the last two years.

Embarrassingly when I started to date again, I was the victim of this a few times.

This isn't new. Before the current generation of apps (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge), women on the websites like Match.com, PlentyofFish, and OkCupid were doing the same thing.

I have one female friend who lives in a different city than I do and I'm not physically attracted to her. She tells me she gets tons of dinner date offers from apps. I am astounded that still happens since I learned not to do dinner first dates nearly a decade ago.

Its really unbelievable how dumb the average guy can be sometimes.

Even if you inform him about it, he is still falling for this scam.
