I just have to think that there is a certain portion of men - who aren't getting anything at this level of quality - consider rape as an alternative dating arrangement. Yes, such men are typically anti-social criminals, but it seems that in a crazy sort of way, it does give them access.

IMO rapists have something fundamentally missing inside them, in the same way psychopaths seem to lack a "soul". I've had second hand contact with a sexual predator who victimised my friend by drugging her. Unfortunately I didn't realise what was going on at the time and couldn't protect her.

There was just something totally wrong with him. He was extremely awkward, talked about weird topics and had "empty" eyes.

I found it genuinely horrifying later to think that this pathetic man had been planning to rape a woman for ages. He'd rehearsed and planned out everything he did that night - he had no connection to my friend and seemingly picked her at random. To think he must have spent a significant amount of his free time getting supplies and the logistics to rape women rather than just doing all the things normal men do in their free time absolutely repulses me.

To rape someone goes against every natural empathic and protective impulse any normal human being feels towards others, especially those who are physically weaker.

Anyway, with sexual activity, most people enjoy the physical sensations of sex and the emotional intimacy. That's normal.

On the other hand, rape is intrinsically different to sex. They're really not the same thing, even if the act is superficially similar. Rapists are usually fixated with violence, exerting control over others and violating them in the worst way they can. It's a sadistic thing.

Imagine your best female friend or relative, and then imagine her in the most terrible distress - distress you are deliberately causing. It's a thought that makes you feel nauseous as a normal man. A rapist would relish the thought of causing that anguish.

Often they hate women, and that spurs them to act in such a vile way. Many serial killers and more violent psychopaths show rapist tendencies for the sadism reasons too.

I suppose you might get a really desperate loser hate women more and more, develop sadistic tendencies and so become a rapist. Usually though, it's men who are really mentally f***ed up that act like that almost uncontrollably from an early age.

I'd say simplifying it to "access" for losers is a gross misunderstanding of the kind of people who do this.

I suppose it's possible that guys who can't get laid might be tempted by the thought of rape. But to actually go through with it, that takes a certain type of individual. Rapists, pedophiles, sex criminals, and serial killers, these people have no empathy for their victim. They are psychopaths. They only see the victim as a tool for their own pleasure.

That is one reason I dislike the way the PUA community sets up psychopaths and other men with dark triad tendencies as role models. Last year someone murdered two girls, aged 13 and 14, here in our state. He still hasn't been caught. People like this are garbage, they're not to be admired.

That guy had no salesmanship skills, didn't understand people, didn't like people, lacked patience, quick to anger, lacked empathy, was oblivious to what it took to get what he desired. I believe rape is not about sex but more about control and dominance, thats why soldiers rape the women of the enemy.

Regarding rapists there could be 100 things, from high libido and lack of empathy to sadism coupled with lack of validation rage.

I personally could enjoy an intercourse with an escort altough not the same way as a genuine one, but I find impossible to even think about sexual satisfaction from rape.

To harm some random stranger with no cause or need its insane, thats shows already that the offender is not mentally sane.

Psycho rape: Raping your wife because she said no one time, raping someone for turning you down/rejecting you/dumping you, roofie-ing someone's drink, cornering a woman in an alley with a knife, kidnapping a totally passed out girl for sex, forcing a drunk girl into it against her will because she was too weak to stop you, etc.

But what about fvcking a woman who's drunk? Is it only psychopaths that bang drunk women? What about statutory rape? Is it only psychopaths that would find a 17 year old (which will pretty much look the same as the actually legal 19 year olds) hot? If a woman says no at the last possible second and the man keeps going because he's too worked up to stop, is he a psycho or just a horndog getting ****ed over by a tease? Etc.

there's no white area because unless you're raping a demon to excorcise it back to hell there's no way for rape to be good.

You make some good points, and certainly there is a distinction between preying on someone for the purposes of raping them, and not wanting to stop mid sex because she changed her mind and you're very aroused and drunk not thinking straight.

Predator raper and drunk frat guy who made a bad decision are obviously different people, but will basically be treated the same and labeled the same in society because the act of forcing sex on someone is the same and the law seems to look at the act more than the context, which is why drunk frat boy who is not a predator will end up on the sexual offender registry, just like the rapist who is a predator.
