from my experience, they usually want validation. if i'm feeling daring, i'll motion them to come closer as if i'm going to whisper something, then move in for the kiss. it gets a great reaction when you say "That should answer your question." or something to that effect.

otherwise i'd do exactly what HandyAndy did, tease them mercilessly

i find though that the chicks that ask this are usually the ones who dress up a bit more (or less), use more makeup, and basically try and look prettier from the outset.

Also i find guys get asked this question more often when they're in the middle of a good gaming period, sort of like teh chick sees the higher value and wants to be judged by it.

Yeah if you said it with a cheeky smile and a sarcastic tone, plus she is pretty you did all what is asked of you in the attraction game, even if she is a friend its good to keep yourself and them on their toes.. I think someone said you wouldnt like it if you asked someone if you were handsome and they said no, but if they said it in the same sarcastic ****y funny way you did, then it would convey as "she knows I'm attractive but is playing with me"
So yeah you did nothing wrong...But you know that and she wanted the answer you gave..in the tone you gave it!!

Well see, we've been friends, and only friends for a little over 2 years, I knew her back in middle school too. I dont have any feelings for this girl, so I wouldnt have wanted to go in for the kiss.
