In my opinion, nobody really cares what other members look like, as many members are trying to challenge people on.

Wouldn't members rather think I'm just some average Joe anyway? If I had extremely good looks, wouldn't my advice be useless to average looking people? Shouldn't I be overachieving when I pick up women, based on my skills?

And don't you already have a mental image of a person based on what they say?

I also think we make assumptions that everyone is of our race, which when it's not true is surprising. Also, if one person has better advice that proves true over the long run, shouldn't they have more weight than a better looking person?

I'm curious what the consensus is on this.

Why cares man? LOL

As long as they have the experience to back up what they say, obviously looks do play a big role and get your foot in the door.

You can tell when someone knows there sh!t or is just bull****ting. Like i said though, looks do matter in the real world, but no i dont care what what other members look like. LOL

^This.

Isn't it funny how many guys on SS claim to be 'average looking' or even 'handsome'? It would be nice to see somebody man up for once and say, 'I look funny/awkward/I have a huge beer gut'.

Puh-lease.

I don't care what the people here look like, and that's how I voted. Although sometimes I'll admit that knowing does explain a few things. If someone wants to post up a pic, I don't mind looking at it.

I would like to see a picture of Backbreaker however, just because he describes himself in such spectacular terms lol.

I dont really care what they look like, I suspect the guys who have lots of plates, always getting laid etc are tall reasonably good looking and have a degree of social proof anyway. anyone who has that success and doesnt have the afore mentioned criteria, then I would be interested to see.

I always say that about myself! And it's true.

But I'm perhaps the best example of a guy who doesn't look very good but has gotten (some) ladies because I'm nice, funny, socialable, with above-average social proof.

Ugly dudes need to be nice to form a social grouping and work from there. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

what does it matter what someone looks like before you give him relationship advice.I offer advice as best as I can cos I am not a life guru and my advice here would probably not alter your life significantly. So unless you state that you're at a disadvantage in the looks department, i assume everything is hunky dory and do my best to help you out based on your post.

It's interesting that you bring this up, because I always thought that the gurus' advice to "go out and get rejected a hundred times and that will make you more confident" was a little suspect at least. I mean, I understand the premise, but I agree for certain guys it could be quite traumatizing.

Right, you have to pass her physical attraction standards with your looks first before she'll allow you to get any further.

Or you could be like me, I was in shape when I got here.

I actually get very tired of hearing all the constant advice to get lean and get in the gym and get in shape. I mean, yes you should do that, just like you should brush your teeth. All this "Get in shape and the women will flock to you" stuff, I'm sure that will help you a lot if you're fat and out of shape. But as I said, I was in shape long before I got here, and while I can attract women, I would by no means say they "flock to me".

Main reason is I'm just an average looking guy. Average height (5' 10"). One thing that hurts me is I wear glasses. There's an old saying "Men never make passes at girls who wear glasses", but I think it may actually be worse for men to wear glasses. Because it implies a certain limitation of action that they can get involved in. And I don't mean I have to put on glasses to read, I mean I have to wear them all the time or I can't see anything at all.

That gives an implication that if you get into a fight, you either take the glasses off and can't see the punch coming, or you leave them on and get them broken and you'll be blind afterwards. Etc, etc. Three different doctors have told me I can't wear contacts, by the way. And don't suggest Lasix surgery because I'm not going to bother with that at my age. Maybe if I was in my 20s. I doubt that I would be eligible for the surgery anyway.

There was a thread a while ago some members started posting pics, i think it was "too good looking" lol anyway.. sometimes we may be curious but to me doesnt matter really. Some could describe in detail i guess.. for me i have black short hair, green eyes, tan complexion skin (naturally as im mixed Hispanic, Italian and some Arabic) im 6 foot, close to 6' 1 with certain shoes on. I do have a very good body that has taken 5 years to build and grow, I have that V taper people want (wide shoulder, skinny waist). my facial features, strong jaw, straight nose. I have full lips i dont like but girls love them. I always hear i want to kiss those lips! ill roll with it if it helps.

Do I care? No.

Am I curious? Absolutely, and it has nothing to do with "challenging".

People like to think that the advice itself is always good enough, but it's not. Telling a guy to have no fear and just approach a woman can usually work out for even an average looking guy who just needs that push of confidence. But, that same advice given prematurely to a guy who really needs to clean up his act first can lead to immediate rejection, disappointment and further hesitation. For some guys it can even be traumatizing.

As much as everyone really wants to believe that looks don't matter, and in the longer term I don't really believe it's important once a person has gotten the chance to know you, truth is that during initial phases, especially with strangers, it does matter. Nobody likes to admit they're at least somewhat vain, but then again, it doesn't matter what we think here. It's the women out there who are deciding. Sh*t isn't going to change in the field just because we come to some sort of a moral census on pictures here in the forum.

My advice would probably be much more effective if I knew exactly what I had to work with.

And on a side note, just because some guys may be good looking now doesn't mean they've always looked that way. I mean, with all the talk around here about self-improvement and working out...
^^^This, I've met a couple guys in person and they were regular looking guys however when I see guys write field reports about "hb10's" and this is what they look like

Pua party

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

To know how a guy look like could make the difference in the choice of following a certain suggestion instead of a other.

Imagine a guy suggesting an aggressive approach and telling how great it is, only to find out that his approach works cause he is good looking while an ugly guy doing the same thing would not only fail but also being labelled creep and kicked out of the club.

The opposite can be true as well, imagine a ugly guy saying how girls who toke much to pick up the phone flaked at the date only to have a really good looking guy having the same reaction due to the fact that girl needed time to be emotionally prepared to answer him.

Im not saying any of those two example is harsh truth, simply elaborating my point.

I have no problem with guys posting pics for advice on their looks, style, or physique. I think that is constructive.

As for guys posting their pics in general, it's their choice. I don't expect anyone to. I respect their privacy.

But, as mentioned, knowing the guy's looks could help put their advice in context.

Spot on.

I saw a very aggressive move a few weeks ago at the bar. Within 10 minutes of an approach, this guy ran his hands up this HB8.5's legs up to her a*s. Then he started kissing her body beginning with her crotch and working up to her mouth, ending with a makeout. She LOVED it. But there is a catch...... He was a very, very good looking guy. An average or below average guy would have been booted and possibly arrested lol.

There certainly is a value behind evaluating someones appearance. But in the case of some more "controversial" users it just turns into a roast. I think the best thing for this forum is to save the "hot or not" posts for hotornot.com... seriously

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

I generally ignore pissing contests and focus on reading and giving advice. Looks are irrelevant to that goal.

I wasn't concerned about getting into fights, Amante. I do keep a spare pair in case something happens. I used to get into the occasional scrape when I was younger, though not recently.

I was just talking about from a looks standpoint, I think the girls would prefer you not wear them. They interfere with seeing your eyes, for one thing. And it's hard to look truly bad@ss wearing glasses - like you are ready, willing, and able to knock out the entire bar if you have to - that's a certain alpha look.

In caveman days, having weak eyes would have been a major disadvantage, so wearing glasses isn't very alpha, I don't think. The alpha male probably had very good vision. But it's no big deal, file it under things you can't do anything about, like height.

I'd REALISTICALLY (unlike most) class myself as a 6. My girlfriend atm is a 6 (Who most of you could only dream of being with) Although my previous girlfriends have been a 7 and and a 7.5. My most recent was the 7.5, i cheated on her numerous times. This makes me a ****head but i was better off without her anyway. Plus i don't have to sit behind my keyboard and be a virgin all my life like most of you
