Do you guys have ways of cueing yourself into a confident mood?

Having one of those days today where I feel exceptionally confident. I could walk into any room and own it. But it's all very non-sensical - nothing has changed. Not that life has been bad lately but it's been steady, unremarkable, kind of in intermission... today I have that kind of energy that I have when I'm at a real high point in life: when I'm working a high profile job, making lots of money and have girls throwing themselves at me.

I don't know where this rush came from but I notice it does come and go in random doses, and I was just thinking how great it would be if I could summon this energy on command.

I know ideally you'll be confident all the time, regardless of your clothes, but really what helped me a lot was nice new clothes where I felt like a MAN. Made me way more confident.

Stick on my favourite songs. Keep fit by doing sport. I hang out with the boys and we keep ourselves going...

I've also worked out that I need to get to the stage where I'm just off being drunk when Im sober because I can kill it when I've had a few but I'm still able to think straight.

Good question.

Thank back to time when you were the BOSS. i.e. when you won a competition, or when you had a bunch of people surrounding you. You were confident then weren't you?

So replicate that.

I'm experimenting with anchoring. The jury's still out as to whether it works or not.

I imagine being in a confident state and then tuck my index fingers down into the valley between my thumbs and index fingers. I'll also reinforce the move when I'm actually feeling confident or any other good feeling out of the blue.

The theory is that eventually I'll be able to change my state to a positive, confident one by doing that move with my fingers. Right now I'm in the process of developing it, so I don't yet know how well it will work. I expect it to be at least somewhat effective.

Where did you first come across this AS ? What you're referring to is a form of self hypnosis. It is taught brilliantly in this "confidence trainer package" from hypnosis downloads - http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/self-confidence-trainer-digital

while im not booming with confidence yet Ive noticed Ive been getting more of it as Ive just eaten better, exercised more consistently, gotten 8 hours of sleep, and reading healthy reading material so making sure as a religious man being more devoted to scripture reading daily but also something out of the DJ bible...so really I use two bibles now or some from the rational male book. i find that reading helps counter balance my mental thinking and is gradually overriding years of BS feminism....also since Ive taken the red pill I wont lie Ive found some stories in scripture that take on brand new meaning.

also just being more mindful of what i choose to do during the day....no more endless hours of mindless internet surfing and resisting the urge to watch unholy crap like human centipede 2.

its a slow amount of confidence but i feel it emerging.

I met an NLP guy a few years ago who was a recovering alcoholic. He really touted the use of anchoring, but stated that he never quite could recreate the same buzz that he had off of alcohol by trying to recall a feeling.

I can also suggest another thing from experience. Acting.

I'm a pretty confident person but i'm generally reserved and anti-social. However, i do know how to act when i need to (sometimes better than others). I work as a account manager/sales. I entertain clients and basically ensure they're happy and continue paying us. I drink and eat and make sure they have a good time and that means I need to be the last one standing. I never leave early, rarely refuse a drink or to do xyz, etc. If they want to do something, i make it happen without a hassle.

So although normally i'm pretty laid back and calm, i turn into a confident outgoing person for work. You want to get a different table? sure, let me see if we can move. You want to go talk to those girls? sure, lets go (i'll open them too unless they're looking for a wingman). I'll talk shots with girls and flirt/joke with them all in order to show them a good time. Then right when they leave, i'll go back to being silent and keeping to myself. I do the same thing when i'm in a relationship. If i'm out eating, and the girl doesn't like the food, i ask for them to take it back and remake it. I take charge. Again, when i don't need to do this stuff, i just go with the flow.

Just think about what people are expecting the ideal person to be, envision it, and then become that person.

Well, do you mean in the club? Because you can't fake any emotions you don't already possess.

You need to get into a process oriented trance in the club.

If you mean in general? Go to the gym, do some deadlifts and squats. You will feel like a muthafuggin bauce if you stay consistent with your training.

Get some new clothes, be more outgoing, go out with friends.

This goes back to affirmations. Thinking about the positive things about yourself. It helps, and works. The opposite, I guess, of getting down on yourself.

Also, envisioning yourself doing something. Going through the motions in your head from a third person standpoint, then a first person standpoint.
